I think this whole discussion, past a certain point, becomes a combination witch hunt/guessing game.

From your own blog comments, Ten, there's this quote given from Danae's "readme" file that comes with her skins:

So there is still the open possibility here that Minnu and Danae used the same photosources, which would explain the belly button, spine, and the veins on the feet.

Some of the screenshots posted here might seem to argue against that conclusion, but I'm just saying it's not really our conclusion to make. Danae is completely within her rights and obligations to take legal action and Minnu would be best served by providing her complete unflattened PSD work to Danae (or a court) in her own defense.

Either way, if we go too far in condemnation here we are guilty of becoming a lynch mob. Personally, I'm disheartened by the whole saga. Even hints of dishonest conduct among major SL businesses is discouraging and I honestly hope Minnu has a good explanation. Her reputation is at stake, but so is her livelihood.

Cindy, there are thousands of images at that site. For Danae and Minnu to pick the same exact images, blend them the exact same way, and use the same EYEBROWS, which only Danae has access to since they're her own eyebrows and her husbands...

This isn't a lynch mob. This is a discussion. No one's here cussing Minnu out or accusing her of unrelated things.

There just seems to be an automatic concensus in these discussions that the accused is guilty until proven innocent. My point was that it's not our decision to make.

Personally I appreciate knowing when these issues come up. I certainly won't buy a Minnu skin until/unless she's exonerated, but I'm also not going to drop the gas pellet on her until there is an official decision between Danae and Minnu as to the facts.

That's all I'm saying.

I haven't been able to read though all of the comments in this thread, but I understand the accusation made, and it certainly seems to be substantiated by the reference pictures provided by Danae. Having just been though the theft of my own work - though certainly not on this level - my heart goes out to Danae. I hope that justice is done here, and quickly.

And I agree with Cindy. I don't think it's fair to condemn Minnu until all of the facts are out.

I'm familiar with the site. There are actually only hundreds, not thousands, of models. And dozens of closeup photos of various parts of each model's anatomy to come up with your total of "thousands of images".

So it's not quite as you're portraying it - some of the models are old men, children, teenagers, etc., so the chances of them picking the same model aren't quite as long as you claim. Long, yes, but not a cosmic-level randomness.

The eyebrows are troubling, I agree. And the photos you've posted are visually damning. But then I would reckon that among the people posting in this thread, perhaps 1 or 2 at MOST are photo experts. The rest of us (including you) are going on a visual impression that, in and of itself, warrants expert investigation.

Cindy, any assumption being made is judgement from seeing the images I posted from Danae, comparison of the two skins.

I agree, It's not our decision (despite what some people think) and by the sounds of it the 2 parties involved are hashing it out and will probably come to some agreement in the end. And none of us will probably ever know what that agreement is.

But people speculating (cause we have nothing better to do) will love to hear the sounds of their own keyboard clapping away so this will just go on...and on...and on... and on...

From low-res porn images she can't find again. Oh, and she didn't have backups for files that, if she were an authentic skin designer, would have taken up hours and even days of her worktime.

Sorry, but my Bullshit alarm just went off on these my-dog-ate-my-homework excuses. There is absolutely no way in hell she pulled these beautiful skins, with such fine details as veins on the feet, from low-res porn images. AND if she were an experienced, authentic skin designer, she would know to keep track of *all* her image sources, in case she ever faced an accusation such as the one now before her.

I've seen and heard enough, and given Minnu's previous near-hysteria-level proclamations against skin-stealing, I am frankly disgusted. I'll never set foot in any of her stores again.

Danae should get in touch with Stroker Serpentine ASAP and discuss strategy.

Wrong on all counts. I'm not 'snapping", I'm not "grasping at straws", and I'm not "stereotyping". But your reaction to my points does raise the possibility that you're more emotionally invested in this issue than is healthy.

If this discussion is one way, it's because the evidence is pretty damning. Does that mean that Minnu is irrefutably guilty? No, but then SLU is not a court, it's a forum. A conclusion to this can only arrived at by Minnu and Danae, but I don't see any reason why people can't express their opinions based on the evidence that we have seen.

Oh I agree completely. Which is why it's a little surprising how my relatively tame post about not leaping to conclusions got such a reaction from Ten. Opinions are going to range all through the pro-and-con spectrum.

If this were a ballgame, the score would be 6-0 Danae, in the top of the 9th. Minnu's up to bat. It doesn't look good for the home team, but miracles can happen.
