Originally 10 groups.

I think the change to 15 came in 2005.

And i never imagined we would need more than 10 groups, let alone 25 - which I am 24 out of 25.

Is that a smart way to do the group thing with having to access the database every time you move? That sounds rather intensive, but I am clueless when it comes to the logic of programming.

And all other logic for that matter.

That feature has never worked for me that I know of.

Shit, I get annoyed if I get more than one notice a day from a group. The leave button gets quite a workout. I'm back down to 11 groups total now. I even IM'd my estate manager asking if I really needed to be in the resident group because it was getting out of hand between notices and IM's. He said "no, just check the website from time to time to stay up to date".

I had a very quite group notice/IM day today.

There has to be a better way. I have no clue what that way could be but until then I'll just keep stripping obnoxious groups.

Weird that the disable notifications button isn't working for you guys. I am in at least two groups that I have deactivated group notifications in. Perhaps the more recent clients are failing to send the correct packat to inform the server to change that option or something

It is one of the more poorly implemented UI features in SL. The fact that it does not even pay attention to the setting to not receive them is just icing on the cake.
You don't even use your twitter. You can 'follow' people but not get updates, which is damn nice with some people.

LL should be happy to know that the groups I've founded will have sent out 200 notices.... in about 30 years

200 notices a day? what group needs 200?

I think 20 would have been plenty....

LL really needs to fix this option. If an option to turn off notices is there, it'd be nice if it actually worked.

I get the most spam from **KOSMIC--NIGHT--CLUB**, I got 30 from them yesterday. I also get too many from Liberty's and Carnage, but KOSMIC takes the cake on that. I've left those groups today, maybe I can actually be on SL for more than 2 minutes without getting 5 spams from groups.

I had WELL over 200 messages in my inbox (email) today that were simply ads for this club or that club.

Being a musician, I'm in a lot of groups for live music venues. A few of these are sister venues of each other, and therefore they send out notices for events at all 3 clubs. Would be really nice to be able to shut those off
