Transferred an Island recently?

I requested transfer of a private island a week ago today, and I still have no news from LL.

For anyone who has transferred recently: How long did you have to wait before LL completed the transfer?

I bought an island from someone 2 months ago and it took nearly two weeks. The other party started to get cold feet (because it took so long they got charged tier) and tried to end the transaction, but LL wouldn't let 'em.

NOTE: They're a lot busier now than they were 2 months ago. I'd expect it to take 2-3 weeks. If you're the one buying the island, you'll also want to contact concierge and ask if the other person has A) submitted their transfer ticket and B) paid the transfer fee. LL will sit on the ticket until those things happen.

Thanks for your reply!

2-3 weeks is a long time

I'm a little confused by the comment about payment of the transfer fee - I thought LL took their US$100 from the purchase funds that are transferred from the buyer's account to the seller's?

They charge the sellers account, same way as when they take fees for renaming or splitting or moving a sim.
What the seller charges the buyer has nothing to do with what LL charges the seller to transfer.

Do they do that before moving the purchase funds from the buyer to the seller? I thought they just credited the seller's account US$100 less than the amount they debit the buyer's account.

I just found it!

I moved my sims recently, took about 2 1/2 weeks. So as Wilde said, expect to wait 2 - 3 weeks on it. Wilde was talking about the monthly maintenace fee, which is $195 - $295 a month depending on when you got your sim. It's due at the same time each month and the current owner is the one that pays it even if the sim is in the middle of a transfer.

Thanks, I understand that. I was referring to the second part of Wilde's post - it threw me off a bit.

Thanks for the replies; it appears I have a lot more waiting to do

Yep, I got worried too when I sold Sonata.
It took approximately 11 days for us to get the transfer completed.

Good luck! Call 'em if you have to!

Weird. My mom just transfered an island out of her name and it only took a week.
