Anybody else getting this spammed to them today?

I haven't gotten that message, but I have gotten a lot of others. I have noticed that the past month or two spam has gotten very bad. In YIM I get 4-5 spam bots IMing me a day, in SL it's only up to 2 or so.... so far.

This is what I saw at the site. I couldn't delete the spamming prim because it was over land that was owned by a group that I'm in. Only the system had me in no groups and, in fact, showed the land owned by nobody at the time. In fact, that's still the case. I'm beginning to wonder if my own land will ever truly belong to me again.

I stopped using Yahoo messenger altogether because of the spam. It was outrageous.

Gone are the days when the old Yahoo bots advertised webcam pr0n. Spam is forever.

I've seen "Dissention" in action. It crashed 2 neighboring sims in a rolling sea of megacubes and creepy sounds mentioning 'havok across the grid.'

Oh, DiSSENTiON.

It's a group of fit-throwing guys who feel the people are getting wronged by LL, and want to side with the common people by filling up sims with spam and loads of megaprims now, while supposedly attempting to crash the asset servers while making copybot available to the public (while not realizing that that has been the case for years).

...yeah, I'm sure they'll totally become the heros of the SL citizens by making SL worse. I totally see the logic in that..somewhere...um..wait, what?

In a nutshell: Imagine a total bratty kid not getting what it wants. Now imagine three of them. There you go.

I think it looks for random online avatars and sends them an IM.

Yes, spambots aren't copybot, but DiSSENTiON is trying to spread copybot links through the spam

Also, if one is wondering about their mindset, a little quote..

'It is unfortunate that you have to suffer during this time but you are only collateral damage. Everything we are doing is for the greater good.'
