Skyrim Holy *****

The same thing happened to me with Oblivion -- I played that game to death, but right after I lost interest, modders started outdoing themselves with skins, models, armor and weapons that blew my mind.

Now it's Skyrim's turn. Some of these use mods I already have (an extensive list, actually), but some of them are like and and and

Looks like it's time for me to remod my Skyrim and give it another shot, just to look at the pretties!

Skyrim - a set on Flickr

(I think that's sweat on her back!)

It's not just the female skins and hair I'm bedazzled by, but I already have mods that make the outdoor vistas more breathtaking and the animals more realistic. Now I need to dig out the mod list this author used and start stealing copying ideas!

Skyrim Mods list

Pretty game!

...and there's always Lovers Lab for the more "detailed" mods .

Also, the hair in that first picture looks a lot like one I bought for an alt.

I'm not as much one for Graphic mods, (other than making nights and caves darker), but here's my current mod list which I posted over on SC a while ago.

I love that game. I haven't played in a while. My last save was #2650 (gulp).

As far as mods, skyui is really important. It makes the ui controls much better.

I love EVERY Elder Scrolls game EXCEPT ESO which sucks balls so much I stopped doing the beta.

Still play Oblivion and Skyrim frequently, Morrowind occasionally. Unfortunately Daggerfall and Arena don't stand the test of time, but they were great in their day.

i'm shocked you've got Moonpath but not Falskaar!!

~
i'd list all my mods but since i have over 150, ehh! it seems like it'd be overly spamming the forum. Admittedly a lot are like armour mods where i'm doing one at a time since they don't come in a pack, leaving off those the list would be much shorter.

What I don't understand about ESO is that no one wanted it. No one wanted Skyrim: the WOW version. We just wanted to be able to join each other's games Saints Row style.

We don't get new Skyrim content so they can work on the world's most boring MMO. What a fucking tragedy. To give us Skyrim and then follow that with ESO? Ugh.

In fairness, Bethesda isn't really all that involved with ESO. As I understand it, they basically signed off on the idea and let Zenimax develop it. So at least it doesn't sound like it will be taking time away from Bethesda developing games that people actually want to play.

Aside from that, yeah, I agree with just about everything you say. In fact, one of the things about ESO that really sucks (aside from the pricing, which alone is enough to turn me away) is that it doesn't seem to really involve a lot of teamwork at all. I mean, ah, if hypothetically I might have signed an NDA, I don't want to say anything more about things that hypothetically are not supposed to be disclosed.

Then again, I'm not really an MMO type of person, since GW2 is the only other MMO that I've played. And from what I can tell, GW2 is kinda the anti-MMO anyways, so I may very well not be the target audience they're trying to reach.

Skyrim is my favorite game because of the numerous mods, and the custom mods I have made for my own game. I actually made over each female NPC, plus created my own different races, different body/skin/makeup custom mod. Second Life avatar makeovers have been dulled a bit ever since I started playing Skyrim in 2012.

This is my Lydia:

I am disappointed with ESO, still did Beta about 4 times. I really hate that ESO isn't just another Elder Scrolls that you can play with your friends. The storyline is all over the place, the quests are too easy. The player characters blend in very well with the NPCs. I am waiting for Fallout 4 to arrive, that is what Bethesda is working on now.

Yes, yes, yes. It is way too easy. There is zero challenge. It's such a beautiful game but so boring to play. I've been in Beta 4 times also. I'm just glad they aren't wiping characters anymore for Beta.

Since the game is up in a topic- I bought it on a Steam sale. I tried to play for an hour or so, but had trouble with the controls. After narrowly escaping beheading, all I can do is spin around while people are fighting and the guy I'm supposed to follow disappears.

Is it possible to play with mouse and keyboard, or is this just made for a game controller and I need one to play?

The one I use (I think it's CBBE?) has options for a more regular voluptuous build in addition to the impossibly gigantic jigglefest one.

The problem with the mod is that you have to only wear armor that is adapted to CBBE. There's a lot of it out there, but it makes things a bit painful if you loot something extra nice and it doesn't fit.

Most of my mods go into armor ("Soul Armor", "Gallia Armor", "Mavari Armor", etc) for different looks, Better Archer's Loot, Malukah's Theme song (a must have, IMO), Enhanced High Level Gameplay (since my thief is level 50 and I would have run out of worthy opponents a long time ago without this mod), Great Wyrms, my incredible Breezehome basement expansion, and several alchemy enhancements.

Speaking of Malukah, she also did a cover for the ESO theme and the comments reflect much of the sentiment we see in this thread.

Before you start the game, go into Options and set your controls the way you like for mouse + keyboard. I don't even know if you can use a controller, but it's not needed.

You can use a controller, but it sucks. Stick with it and see if you can set the keys more to your liking (you can remap them the way you want, especially useful if you have extra mouse buttons). And the intro is very frustrating because they don't give you full control at the start. They add functions as you go through the tutorial.

There's a mod for that!

Quick Start - Skip The Opening Sequence at Skyrim Nexus - mods and community

Quote:
It will let you start a new game any time you want, skipping all the opening sequences, like the carriage ride and the first dungeon, which will save you a lot of time, if you like to start new character often.

And yes, only do the opening once to see the story, then pick an alternate start mod. I use one that lets you start in a variety of different locations with different levels of resources and some minor backstory.

Ehhh..
that is the "Opening/cinematic" of the game..

The controls are "not so great" until you follow a guy (after you nearly get beheaded) into a building. Up until that point you aren't /really/ playing with the games true controls. For example you are stuck in first person.. for one, and cannot even go into third. But you also have other limited interactions with the world.

It's not even the real game yet. The first "building" you enter continues the tutorial until you exit that "tutorial dungeon" (basically) and then enter the real game world. But at least once inside the "building/dungeon" you have full keyboard and mouse controls at that point.

So.. i wouldn't judge the "game mechanics" on that first cart-ride/beheading/follow the guy/blah-blah portion of the game...

And ~ as others said i play exclusively with mouse and keyboard easy peasy ^^

I think I need to mod up my Skyrim more, those pictures look amazing! At the moment I think I've just a couple of mods for Whiterun and Riften for aesthetic improvements, oh and a market mod to sell stuff at your own stall (which is kind of of fun)

I tried installing mods and it ended with me losing my first game. I'd like to mod it up, because those images look awesome, but I just don't trust it .
