YEAH.

I toldja you didn't need Elona I knew that you should have tried just one campaign. I TOLDJA you should have tried it for a bit before you committed with more money, but didja listen? NOOooooo it's just a harmless little MMO!

Sorry about that, had to. Unless of course you only bought Elona (Nightfall) and not the original GW or Factions, in that case ignore that and carry on

I bought Prophecies too. I'm sure i'll give in and pick up Factions by the end of the week.

Oh, if anyone feels like adding my characters, so far I have a necromancer named Avorean Palacost who I don't like playing, and a dervish named Borelean Strathelar, once Shehkah finishes downloading

Dervishes are very very pretty, and can do a lot of damage to people around them and surrounding them... but they really can't take a hit. Best thing to have going with a Dervish is a lifebond monk taking half of the hits for you. (Lifebond is a spell that protects an ally by sucking the monk's energy and doing damage to the monk instead of you, and the better your skill is at it the less damage it does).

But that's kinda rare. Still, it'll give you a really good taste of what GW is all about, help you build up some skills, get used to combat etc, weee!!!

So I got to level six.

Earlier today I deleted and recreated like almost all the classes to test and see what I liked better. I settled on Elementalist (yeah yeah) as the primary but I'm still debating on what I want to be for secondary. I was thinking Monk.

I also considered Elementalist/Ritualist but I don't know if I don't want to have any support-class skills at all.

Yea/nay?

I was wondering where you went.

Sure, Elem/Rit sounds like a fun combination, but both of those types have a hard time defending themselves (re: blocking) from what I've seen.

Later you'll be able to switch your secondary willy nilly, so though it may seem like a momentous decision now it won't stick too bad if you make the wrong one. I always go with a monk secondary for classes like Ele, because with Elementalist you rarely need any other skills than your primary class. So having a resurrect that isn't a signet is very helpful if you won't really be using anything else. Your enchantment, the aura of restoration, will take care of a lot of your health concerns, and your elemental attunement will also take care of energy. Ele's are very self reliant when it comes to class builds, but Ele/Mes can also be very good because of skill "echoes" and energy drains.

Ok I drifted off there, but really what I wanted to say was with a monk secondary you simply can't go wrong.

And you get to be e/mo

Yeah I figured a secondary healing class is good for pretty much everything.

I have always loved games that let you multiclass, I wish it was available in more.

I used to play this MUD that let you multiclass at 40. To get a secondary class you had to do this really huge convoluted chain quest in a special area of the game and it was a lot of time and effort, but also really, really fun. Apparently they bumped it up to 60 now.

Hopefully once you finish with Ran Musu gardens and get your butt into Kaineng, we can all play through the Factions campaign, Ten, me and you Joshua. Sorry Sobri, but if I'm on separately I'd love to play Elona with you, it's the one campaign I haven't beaten and I've got a few characters that need to be imported and level up their heroes. Especially my MM, whom I love and would be really useful >.>

What is a good secondary one for a Necro? Its been so long that I've played it that I'm not sure which is the best secondary one.

Really depends on what sort of Necro. SS necros need a mesmer secondary, but Minion Masters do best with a monk secondary. Whatcha working towards? If you're under level 20 and still foodling around, not sure what you want to do, I'd say /Mo for the same reason as the ele, simply can't go wrong.

I've been poking in the forums but have been too tired to do much more than browse around the past few days around "game time" due to my schedule and such. Hopefully I'll get more play time soon!

I currently have 3 characters in GW, all from the original campaign, and are PvE characters.
My highest level character is a level 15 Necromancer/Mesmer named Xpg Takashi (Shitty name, I know)
My second highest level character is a level 10 Monk/Warrior named Takaitaki Sun
My lowest level character is a level 2 Warrior/Munk named Predreus Sung

Don't be afraid to add any of them to your friends list, though I probably wont be on when you do, heh

Is there any way to add more slots to the skill bar? Eight seems woefully inadequate considering I can only switch them out in town. I already have like 16 skills.

Okay, I've torn this interface apart all day and still can't figure out...how the heck to I see how many promotion points I have/what rank I'm at?

As for the skill bar...I think eight is fair given that you can switch them out whenever you're at an outpost, and can freely reassign your points. It's not like the towns are that terribly stratified. At least not in Nightfall.
