Ok, here is a Draw Something etiquette question.

I have noticed some people wait until the drawing is completely finished before they type the word guess. Sometimes they type all but the last letter, and then complete the word once the drawing is done.

Other people guess and type as soon as they figure out what the drawing is. This is what I do, as I am used to playing Pictionary, where speed and quick guessing is the goal.

So, the question is, am I insulting people by not waiting for their drawing to complete before I guess the word? If I am, my apologies!

not at all... i do both..
i know some piccies i draw out with maximum teasing... and others i get right down from the get go..
often i can guess the word from the letters but want to see how the person is drawing it.. so i wait with one letter open .. and smoke a ciggie..

i dont think anyone could take offence if you jump right in .. or wait.. the point is to have fun in whatever way funs it for you =^^=

It depends if i'm on the bus on the way home, or desperately needing a pee whether i wait for the drawing to finish. OR as Eku says... and she's the best at stringing you along till the very last thing she draws!!... i can't even get it till the last little bit.

I enjoy watching how some drawings unfurl. So if i do guess it, i leave the last letter just to finish watching the drawing process.

BTW: Eku your "alone" one had me AND my brother stumped for ages!! HEHE i've run out of bombs, so i had to guess it

well...
there are some tricks..
bombs are unnecessary.. just close out the app and open it again.. and take note of which letters didnt change..
you can do that for words too.. when presented with a set of words to draw that you dont like..
kill the app.. open it again .. and voila..
more words.
i only use my coins on colours.. and slowly getting close to the whole set.

i limit myself to wake up and before sleep time play.. (if i can resist)

oh i use the little button at the bottom. It refreshes the letters. But i'd done that so much and it was a shorter word so i was getting z's a q's and k's... and really didn't put it all together! lol.

Good tip about the choice of words though. I'm getting fed up of countries! And useless celebrities that if i have to google it, no one else is gonna get it!

i'm one of those people that, when guessing, if i know the answer early on, i type out most of the word, but leave the last letter open, so i can watch the person finish drawing..

i really /enjoy/ watching how people draw. i like to see what order they draw things in and such, so that part is one of the funnest parts to me! ...

but i don't mind if someone else guesses my drawing right away, rather than waiting for mine to finish. At first i use to do that (mostly because i thought there was a 'benefit' to guessing faster), but it seems like there isn't, so, now i do the waiting thing.

Edit: on the other hand... i worry about my etiquette.. i worry if its "rude" of me to not draw the "main word" right away. For example if the word is "Skirt".. i wonder if i should just draw a "skirt" first.. then start drawing the person /around/ the skirt.. second? i wonder if i take /too long/ to get to the main-point of my drawings sometimes.

i worry that an update will kill that 'bug' (assuming it is a bug, with the sale of bombs, i assume it must be)! i use that a lot >.>

Like Orin, i dislike the 3 star "celebrity" choices (and use the shut down, restart app most then), i usually never know them! ... although someone /did/ draw me Tony Hawk, and i guessed that. Although only because the person added a word. They drew a skateboarder and then added the word "famous". Which which helped me.

The only other celebrity i've gotten right is Snoop or Snoop Dog, and i only got that right because my friend drew a picture of Snoopy from Peanuts, and with that hint, and lookin at the letters i was able to guess

No, no, that's not rude at all. I enjoy watching the drawing too, but sometimes I just go ahead and type the word. I don't mind at all if someone draws an elaborate scene and then puts the appropriate item in last. It can actually make it more fun that way.

I kind of like/hate the celebrities - some I've no idea I skip, but I've managed Britney, Trump, Beckham and Frodo - those were kinda fun

I'm sorry I'm taking so long to finish my drawing, Grandma Bates. I want it to be perfect.

I've sort of developed my own etiquette and ruleset for playing. Here are my rules:

1) If you're a random person I don't know, I play straight with you. If you spell out a word instead of drawing with it, I guess it completely wrong on purpose, then send you a picture of my clue, but with a penis attached to it.

1)b if you write another word, I start making random pictures that have nothing to do with the subject. Like for "yoda" I'll make dracula fighting a robot. Until you quit.

2) If you're somebody I do know, you always get a penis in the picture. Just because Spock isn't seen on camera urinating, it doesn't mean he never peed.

3) If you're a friend and fail to guess spock, just because he also happens to be peeing, then each next picture will have bigger penises in it.

I mean, that's completely easy to draw and guess but wth is a "forkball"?
