| After saying over and over again I don't want to buy single player games I bought Skyrim Greenman Gaming has it for 50% off today and I've heard someone's working on a multiplayer mod. Self-justification ftw

(sorry. I ran into them yesterday. I knew the game had dragons and giants and stuff, but I was totally unprepared for mammoths. I'm still feeling a bit giddy).

SL Join Date: 2007-02-06 | I lost Lydia. I'd been trying to attract the attention of two giants by shooting arrows at them (since waving didn't work) and it somehow upset them, so they attacked. Lydia bravely, if not very wisely, stood between me and them. I'm not quite sure what happened since I was busy advancing in the opposite direction, but it was short and didn't sound entirely pleasant. So, filled with the kind of righteous anger only the death of a somewhat well-liked self-propelled storage chest can inspire, I avenged her in a very manly fashion (involving a tall rock, about 150 arrows and a lot of time). Then I tried to find her body so I could give her a proper burial (and not at all to check if she had some stuff I wanted), but couldn't find it. Relatively downtrodden and tearful, I made my way back to my house in Whiterun to properly mourn Lydia's passing there, and/or get some sleep, but when I entered my bedroom, I found her sitting on a chair in there, completely unscathed. She acted like nothing had happened, so now I wonder which kind of creature the Jarl foisted off on me. I suspect I will find it difficult to get much sleep after this (especially since she has a tendency to stand at the end of the bed, staring unflinchingly at me for the whole night. Or, I think she stares unflinchingly, at least; her helmet makes it a bit hard to tell). |

My Mood: SL Join Date: 2/8/2008 Client: Phoenix, Exodus Blog Entries: 5 | So, as I mentioned in my OP, I'm in the closed beta for C9 Online's Western release. Finally got to play this afternoon. Haven't gotten very far yet, but I did get a worthwhile first impression. -WYSIWYG combat can be fun! It's gratifying hearing a good thump of kicking ass. You can create custom combos with a variety of tactics. -Character classes are thus far are gender-locked but there's fairly decent customization. -Instanced missions with at least three difficulty settings. Loot quality scales with difficulty but is a little too random as far as drop rates go. -The usual crafting experience but farming is a bit time intensive. -Good graphics quality, the game makes good use of Nvidia's PhysX. -Sound is great, especially the boss fight music. Be back with more... |

SL Join Date: 2007-02-06 | 87 hours into Skyrim. My character is level 37, I think, and rather messy; mix of heavy and light armor, stealth, one-handed melee and archery skills, with a good bit of smithing and alchemy thrown in. I lost Lydia for good to a caveful of conjurers, but now I have Jenassa instead who somehow projects more personality despite not saying much more than Lydia. And I like her fairly psychotic 'killing as art' approach too (though, it wouldn't hurt if she was artful enough to not get in the way of my arrows). The flaws of the game are starting to become obvious and I've run into a number of bugged quests too (nothing ruins immersion like having to fix them with console commands), but it's still rather enjoyable and 'I'll just play for an hour' still ends up being six hours or more. |

Towards the end of Zelda : Skyward Sword, and suddenly bored with it 'cause I can't get past the flooded forest/swim-around-and-find-the-musical-tadpoles part. It's a fun game tho - someone please come swim around and get me unstuck! (throws disc in the unfinished pile with AC: Revelations and ME2) |

Business: ANOmations Client: Viewer 2 Blog Entries: 18 | I have a friend that I play RIFT with who has MS. He's not the greatest player, but he loves it and it helps a lot to distract him from the day to day problems of his condition. Lately I've been spending a lot of time with him in RIFT, taking him to dungeons that he's never been to because he didn't have enough confidence to try playing with a group. The other day, at the end of one of the dungeons, he ended up getting a rare item and was the first person on our server to have gotten that item. The item itself was useless to him, but he didn't care. He was so excited to have not only won something, but to have been the first on the server to do so, that he was ecstatic. This was on the same day that his MS had worsened and he was really down, so it was a really special moment, not only for him, but for me too. |

My Mood: | I have more games on Steam from the last half dozen sales than I have lifetime left in which to play them all. And I'll buy more in the next sale, too. |

My Mood: | I am playing Eufloria HD on my iPad. "A relaxing, abstract strategy game" Relaxing?! My fecking ass! I'm under constant, unrelenting attack and getting my butt kicked. On 'Relaxed' difficulty :/ I am generally good at even complex strategy games. This 'relaxing' one makes me feel like a total noob. |
