Business: ANOmations Blog Entries: 16 XBOX Leaderboard: 22nd | Gamespot, IGN give Halo 3 a 9.5/10 http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/acti...om_clk=topslot http://xbox360.ign.com/objects/734/734817.html Although I'm not a huge fan of the series, the release is significant - it is expected to sell 4 million copies in the next month, and has over 1 million preorders - including a sold out $129.99 limited edition, and is expected to bring in $200 million in sales on its first day. This is good for the entire game industry, and especially for the XBOX 360, which I am a huge fan of. I'm not dying to play Halo 3, but I will buy it eventually to play with friends. I play Halo 2 from time to time, basically to indulge my best friend shooting me since I suck at it. I'm holding out for Project Gotham Racing 4 and Grand Theft Auto IV - until then, I keep playing puzzle games on XBOX Live lol. |

| Banned | I'm one of those XBox-less gamers but I've wanted to play Halo on XBox ever since I tried it at a friend's house. Reading that game review makes me want to take my CC to a game shop and just blow the big wad but I'd probably have an easier time explaining to my wife why I blew Cristiano than why I blew $500 on a game. |

Business: MadScience Laboratories | Halo was completely lacking any of the strange awe and mystery that its predecessors had. I found the characters, especially Cortana, to be paper-thin and just as dimensional. Well, except for 343 Guilty Spark, and he was pale in comparison to the dark grandeur of Durandal. Halo looked good, and had some fun things, but it was a chore to play sometimes. So I hope part of that 9.5 is story, not just how fun it is to frag people online. Fatum Iustum Stultorum |

It'll probably sell quite a few Xbox 360s as well, like I believe Gears of War did when it came out. I did pre-order the regular edition, but since my Xbox 360 is down for repairs it'll probably be almost the end of October by the time I get it back. |

SL Join Date: Dec 2003 | After playing FPS's for the past 10+ years with a keyboard/mouse, I found playing FPS's like Halo on a console pad to be complete and utter gimpy clownshoes. Once Microsoft released Halo 1 and 2 on PC, I did indeed play them, because I wanted to see what everyone was busting a nut over. To be honest, I was underwhelmed. I found that these games brought nothing new to the table that I haven't already experienced on a PC FPS years before. The action and scripted event missions didn't hold my interest, and I found the low-rez graphics and texture ports to be laughably horrendous. Hopefully Halo 3 will be awesome, and the success will result in a quick port to the PC so I can play it. It's a shame, because they really should have integrated keyboard/mouse support in console FPS's a decade ago.. It finally looks like Epic has the right idea with Unreal Tournament 3, which is going to support keyboard/mouse on the console. |

My Mood: | I too was confused why Halo was worshipped so much. So many of the levels were identical that after seeing the same corridor for the 6th time, I wanted to turn it off. I looked at the reviews and everyone loved it, so I kept playing to find out how long it is before it gets good because that many people could not love the boring game I was playing. After finishing it I realised, it never gets better than "average". Some parts were enjoyable but 80% of it was repetitive corridors. |

This was the first FPS that I really got into (The original) and I've been playing more of them since. The fun of it for me though, was not so much the usual game (Though that is fun), but tricking. Multiplplayer or single player tricks, finding hidden spots, using hogs and explosives in inventive ways. Sword flying in Halo 2 was really fun (Until they killed it).
