Business: ANOmations Blog Entries: 16 XBOX Leaderboard: 22nd | Test Drive Unlimited 2 Under Development Not sure how I missed this, but according to various sites, a second version of Test Drive Unlimited, featuring dynamic weather and offroad racing, is supposed to be out in March 2008. I hope they improve the multiplayer features, especially the underdeveloped avatar system. It also says there will be over 2400 miles of road, which would make it twice the size of the current version. http://news.teamxbox.com/xbox/13408/...-in-the-Works/ |

My Mood: SL Join Date: June 12, 2003 XBOX Leaderboard: 4th | Cool the multiplayer in it wasn't that good, to me anyway, especially since most of the people I ran into randomly in-game had better vehicles than I did. It needs some kind of matchmaking service like the Halo 3 beta had. It also got a bit boring when most of what you did was drive on roads. Off road will be a welcome addition and dynamic weather will keep things a bit more interesting as well. |

Business: Peregrine Salon | Heh, I played the original Test Drive series. I remember thinking, "Wow, this looks SO much better on my EGA monitor than on my old CGA one." Those were the days. |

Business: ANOmations Blog Entries: 16 XBOX Leaderboard: 22nd | Hah I remember the original Test Drive too - when you would crash, the windshield would get this big jagged crack in it. The whole thing was amazing though - it's funny, even with photorealistic cars now, it still felt just as exciting then to be driving a Ferrari in all its 16 color glory. Don't get me wrong, I love my 1080p photo realistic glory, but there was something charming and appealing about those EGA and VGA games - and they were somehow just as immersive. |

Business: Peregrine Salon | I think a lot of the early CGA/EGA games had the charm just for trying to do something like that with so little to work with. I mean, Zaxxon even felt 3-D with the right amount of imagination! It just hit me - on the original Test Drive, it was just about as easy to control the vehicle as in SL. The more things change... |
