Yeah, I have to play her more probably to get down the basic strats - brain hasn't absorbed that yet as I spend most of my time on my hunter and priest still.

I'm still flip-flopping between casting and meleeing mobs - but usually when I'm playing her I run with my warrior hubby so I heal.

That sounds so much like a joke. A Paladin, a Shaman, an Druid, and a Priest walk into a bar....

These days when I quest, I rather be in bear form and attack 3-5 mobs at the same time than be in cat form killing 1 at a time.
Have to confess I never tried balance, but you're not the first to call it a good levelling spec. Just never appealed to me, so I forget it even exists. My bad.

As for bear vs cat, depends on equipment. With bear form, 3-5 enemies or an elite are no problem at all, it's just so damn slow. With cat form, I claw through enemies so fast I don't even bother with stealth attacks anymore.

I think my experience trying to level her as holy/disc from 60 and up has sort of overshadowed my time leveling as shadow

Why would I make a priest to do shadow? If I want to do DPS why wouldn't I play a class designed for that?

My priest so far is strict Holy.

I love doing instances with Shadow. I'm always at full mana.

That's one thing I love about an Affliction warlock. Unless I have to start throwing shadow bolts left and right I never want for mana.

Yeah but short of your instant Howl I can take on a level 70 affliction warlock easily.

Though admittedly they're the only class with a chance of killing me after I've already killed them. Affliction DOTs suck.

Shadow has a different set of usefulness apart from its ability to do high damage. 'Locks and other mana users like the mana they can get back from um what is it, Vampiric Touch?

It's not as fun dps'ing shadow as all you do is mind flayflayflay between mind blasts (if I recall right) - the mage BOOM is more satisfying somehow.

Vampiric Touch just restores a percentage of damage as health to the group though, not mana.

I still have to decide which build i like best for locks, I've tried demonology and affliction, both are fun to play with. For instances it seems affliction is better.

Never tried destruction tho...

Sorry, VT restores mana.
Vampiric Embrace restores health.

Oh and I find it works fine in both PvP and instances. I did Shadow Labs last weekend and did more DPS than a rogue with T4 gear.

My warlock is the toon I respecced the most during my leveling. The one almost near it is my warrior; I am still unsure whether arms or fury are better... lol
