Here's a question with no perfect answer: What MMOs would you say had the sexiest female characters?

The reason I ask is because I got into a discussion with some friends on another board where I was bemoaning the idea that chainmail bikinis offered more protection than titillation (hehe, she said "titillation").

I was reminded that devs have a hard time balancing between marketing to pubescent boys who like their T&A, but keeping the parents quiet by not focusing too much on the T&A. Most games just eliminate it altogether and make things generic PG (like WoW does).

I remember thinking the Dark Elves in Lineage II were far hotter than any other game I've seen, and you could actually go topless in Age of Conan. Given more time, it's possible that APB might be up there in terms of cute girls in skimpy outfits (with mohawks and automatic rifles!)



I admit I haven't tried many other MMOs of late. Some of the latest Asian browser games look sexier in the ads than they are in reality, and I haven't been much interested in Champions Online.

Lineage II is still pretty high up there on the list for sexy female characters.

I remember when I played that back in 2005-2006 or so and a friend was wanting a reason to play, so I put together this .



He signed up a short while after.

Aside from that, Perfect World can have some pretty sexy females, although due to the freedom of the shape system (easily rivals Second Life in many ways...some better), it can have some extremely weird ones as well. You actually see a few of the same shape problems from SL. A lot of the cash shop clothing can be super cute.

Runes of Magic, which I'm currently poking at every so often, has some sexiness going for it here and there. I don't think anything will beat a well done Second Life avatar though.

I'm really looking forward to seeing how Final Fantasy XIV turns out.

Another one that came to my mind tonight was Guild Wars. While the selection of armors isn't as varied as I'd like, it's not bad.

of all the ones i have played ... Lineage II would have to be close to the top when you speak of stereotypical 'sexy' for MMO's ...

for actual MMO's that i thought the world was sexy or stunning .. i haven't found one yet .... each one has been a step better then the last one .. but they all dump a lot into the avatars and monsters .. and a little left over for the world.

That is lvl 1 armor I think, it gets more *ahem* revealing as you level. Still, Lineage is better.

oh geez there was this anime one once. I don't even think it got out of beta in the USA before it vanished lol.

The best thing about Blade Mistress was that one of the only visually-distinguishing variables in the game was the size of your weapon. So their "epic" swords were ridiculously large (I mean literally 3-4x body height). I searched for screenshots but couldn't find any good examples. It was funny on several levels, though.

a while. maybe five more years. Has to be a compelling reason from a marketing perspective. I don't think it will happen unless nvidia goes into the pc business as a result of their cat fight with intel,

It's going to probably take two things - graphics cards being one of them, though I think some of the current high end cards are about there already. The other thing is bandwidth. We could really use Internet2 some day

But given the wide disparity in PC performance across the board, most games are going to do like WoW and offer low-rez meshes that are easy to transmit on slower connections, for less lag and faster response.

Yanno, looking it up, I found the perfect answer to WoW elitists saying it has become ezmode. Shaiya's Ultimate Mode. Your toon dies, it's deleted. Period. Mad skill would be required for endgame with that enabled

Well if you like that, you'll love Sociolotron. Socio features permadeath and is the only (non-Japanese) game to feature rape as an actual game mechanic.

Yup. But they are really pissed off at one another right now. calling each other names, etc. I expect to see something happen. Maybe unite with AMD perhaps?
