Business: CGBG - Cool Gear by Gorham XBOX Leaderboard: 32nd | Launchers are a niche weapon unless you're a Berserker with the proper skillset. I keep a 4x acid-based launcher on my Siren but use it only on turrets. It also works fairly well on larger spiderants and skags. |

Mostly I keep a machine gun/combat rifle as my soldier's #1, then a sniper rifle, a fire-based SMG and a caustic shotgun as my main weapons. The shotgun rips up those flying Rakks easily.

Business: Glowbox Designs Blog Entries: 1 | Well, I got the game. And I've delved into the single player pretty hard core (at lvl 17 now). I'm enjoying the hell out of my self. I don't have any rare weapons, but I think my weapons are pretty solid considering my level. Wow, that purple RL is balls! I do have some gripes. 1. The server browser sucks to high heaven. I literally can't get in a server for MP. I refresh the list and try joining a server, and it fails to connect every time. WTF? 2. I realize this game supports VOIP because of the speaker icons on the lobby page...but other than that I've see NO reference, control panel, or setting tab for voice...I heard a couple of people chatting once in a lobby...but have never had it work in game, and am not even sure how to set up push-to-talk or voice activated...I don't think there are ANY setting controls or mention of voice...at least not in-game (I purchased off of Steam, so it's a direct download without any packaging or instruction). Still, the audio settings should have SOME mention or control over voice--I mean, this game DOES focus on MP team co-op. * Some menue selection choices (OK, Cancel, Enter, ESC) aren't optimized for PC I think...a little un-intuitive. Well. Anyway. It's a great game. I'm loving it. I just got this wicket pistol that does 87 damage with X3 electrical damage. Right now I'm stuck on Sledge...that dude is TOUGH! I think I may need help. I get his armor down, then I take off like 25% of his heath, and then he regenerates...not sure what to use...

![]() What class are you? I've been messing with a Siren a little, and she just doesn't seem to be nearly as tough in a fight as my Soldier (in other news, water is wet). I had my turret buffed for the Sledge fight, used my best close-range weapons and just kept running back to the medkit vendor when I was close to death. He may have regenned a little but I didn't notice it - I finally wore him down.

Whenever I meet a boss I can't seem to beat, I run around elsewhere, do other quests, loot new stuff and come back when I'm stronger. I tried using a fire-based SMG on him but that didn't seem to do enough physical damage. My machine gun, on the other hand, worked great in conjunction with my turret.

| Sledge was easy. He can't follow you through the doors you enter his area by because he's too big. Stick by the door and when you need to recharge your shield just go back outside. If you stay in there with him you're toast unless you're playing coop. |

On that note, the Siren can become quite tough...but I'll give you a hint: Spread across all three skilltrees. The combination haz ze power. My main weapon currently is a scoped massive revolver. By the way, if you ever find a SMG named Combustion Hellfire..use it. Alot. It is more flaming than a flamingo in rainbow leather. Also: Unless I'm mistaken, the class mods can raise skills above their maximum. Not only that, but also boost skills that are otherwise at 0. Nyah nyah.

Business: CGBG - Cool Gear by Gorham XBOX Leaderboard: 32nd | That's similar to what I'm using, Chalice, although I don't use Phase Walk much except as an oh-shit button and a heal. I do use it sometimes to get myself into a flanking position when playing co-op. Borderlands: Skill Tree Class mods do boost skills over five but don't show on the skills screen. (needs patching) They don't add to skills if the base is zero, however. And yes, Hellfire SMGs are win. I have two. |

My Mood: SL Join Date: 04/2006 | Ok, I finally bought this game. I love the artistic cel-shaded style! I created a Siren, 'cuz she's hot. I'm loving my sniper rifle that sets dudes on fire. |

XBOX Leaderboard: 20th | Me and a buddy beat the game a few days ago. The ending is... underwhelming. Playing a second playthrough now. Enemies start off at level 35

Business: CGBG - Cool Gear by Gorham XBOX Leaderboard: 32nd | There is no ending, it's so lame. But I can live with it because the game is so much fun.Wait until you finish the second playthrough. There's no third playthrough, but all the enemies jump to levels 48-51(!). I don't remember seeing anything 52... yet. |

(I'm a hunter as well... I think. I know I can phase walk, whatever class that is. ) Edit: Nevermind, it seems after reading this thread again, mobs respawn. I didn't realize that before! Last edited by Nimrod Yaffle; 11-26-2009 at 06:19 PM.

| If you can phasewalk then you're a Siren. I haven't played that class. The bonehead guy is tough if he's a higher level than you, but you should be able to take him out with 4-5 headshots with a sniper rifle from back in the alley, especially if you toss a few infusion grenades into the courtyard. Don't let him get close to you. His shotgun isn't very accurate unless he's right up close. |

| Finished the DLC. For anyone considering getting it you'll get 3-4 hours of play out of it. Not a lot, but it cost about the same as going to two movies so I'm not sorry I bought it. If you're already level 50 you'll breeze through it except the final boss battle. I think I died twice and once was because I jumped off a cliff I shouldn't have jumped off of. I didn't notice any new weapons or tech and it doesn't raise the level cap. I did find a couple of very nice weapons though, including an x4 incendiary sniper rifle with base damage of 650. |
