Is Brad McQuaid back?

Posted on twitter via a friend who writes a gaming blog.

Brad’s Blog

True or false? Some seem to think the blog is a hoax.

Personally after the mess of Vanguard in 2007 at its launch and the supposed running of Sigil which lead to SOE buying Sigil and if its what lead to be true sacking everyone in the car park I'd be surprised if anyone is willing to hire let alone trust him again.

Vanguard's failure had more to do with others than it was for Brad McQuaid. He could be to blame for some of the problems of the game but he was one of the first people to say it needed more work. I liked the game but it ran poorly on even some of the more powerful systems just like Crysis did.

Brad was also responsible for a lot of Everquest's problems. I worked for Sony at the time and I can assure you that Brad was more worried about his own image than he was about being honest with his people.

If Brad had been more aware of who was screwing who on his development team and less about seeing how much snow he could blow up his nose Vanguard may have turned out ok.

And I agree with Cindy, he made an absolute mess of Luclin and when he was called on it just walked away leaving SOE holding the bag and looking bad when they finely released that half finished mess of an expansion....

Still Sony should have known it wasn't ready but they backed releasing it anyway. I remember being in the beta close to launch and thinking that it was nowhere near ready so they definitely should have known. Plus it was a bad time to launch considering that the WoW expansion "The Burning Crusade" came out a few weeks later.

P.S. I'm going to try it again by doing the 14-day free trial that I am currently downloading.
