). I have no desire to play Spore, never did, never will. Hopefully, this is the wake up call they needed.

My Mood: SL Join Date: May 2007 XBOX Leaderboard: 19th | MAXCONSOLE - MaxConsole - Global class action law suit launched against EA over Spore DRM EA is DEFINITELY getting the message that their customers are pissed off. The full legal document This is making me remember the good old days of the Sony Rootkit. Let's hope EA learns from this. Sony was smart enough not to use DRM anymore after the rootkit. I've even bought a few CDs from artists on Sony labels lately, and have checked them with every program at my disposal -> they're as clean as can be. Let's hope EA follows up.

| Whoever made the final decision to have DRM on Spore needs to be grabbed by the hair and have their face shoved into a monitor displaying the search results for "spore" on a bittorrent site, like a puppy getting their nose rubbed in an accident. Then get dragged across to another monitor showing the amazon.com reviews. DRM forces some legitimate customers to pirate out of spite and never buy again, while a good game with a lack of copy protection will sell well and not generate the ill will that would damage return business. Pirate regulars aren't going to buy the game anyway. It's really not a fucking secret: protection never ever protects. Don't treat your customers like shit and they'll buy the product regardless of how possible it may be to download it for free. Doesn't take a fucking brain surgeon. Oblivion has what, 1.7 million copies sold? And they only use a disc presence check. Wowie zowie! Whoda thunkit? |
