Big new bonuses to WoW Recruit-a-Friend system

This is pretty cool, I just got this email:

Quote:
Our new Recruit-A-Friend program has added features that reward you even more for bringing your friends into Azeroth™. Recruit-A-Friend and earn:

* An exclusive ZHEVRA in-game mount* when your friend pays for 60 days of subscription time.
* 30 Days of FREE** WoW gametime when your friend pays for 30 days of subscription time.

Also, from the moment your friend creates a character and starts adventuring with you (including the trial period), both of you will receive these additional in-game benefits:

* You and your friend will earn triple the experience when grouped together.
* For every two levels of experience your friend earns, they can grant one level of experience to any one of your characters of lower level.
* You and your friend will have the ability to summon each other from any point in the world.
Anyone want an invite?

Hell no! The only way I would come back is if they would stop the major grind and not have to kill 100 critters just to get 10 items off of them. That and when I kill a critter I don't find something that they wouldn't have like pants in a pig.

If it were any other MMO it would sound like they are desperate for subscribers.

I'll go back to WoW when Satan wins the gold medal in downhill skiing.

I think they are in need of more people to by the retail versions. I guess they don't make enough from the monthly subscriptions.

I think it is wrong to glorify satan like this. I feel this is a direct attack on Christians.

(I've been waiting for an opportunity to turn a WOW thread in the Gaming forum into a religions cluster fuck)

I don't believe in Satan either, therefore I don't believe in WoW.

I think the grind has really improved personally. After the lowered the XP needed from 1 - 60 I've got characters leveled much faster.

Adam created a new character around May I think and he's already at 55 I believe, and that's not from grinding much at all.

I was in WoW when that happened and it did improve some, but still way too much grinding for me and still killed things that would have something that wouldn't belong. One of the things I really liked about Age of Conan is that when you went after 20 of some item off of an enemy all you had to kill was 20 to get it. That and every item I got off of a corpse belonged.

I think that's a level of micromanaging that's kindof ridiculous though. I would like the drop rates to be improved on some of the quests, but otherwise, well, it's a fantasy.

I think its great but It kinda pisses me off cause I recruited friends in the past so I want my freggin zebra mount dammit.

I also think complain about quest to collect 100 hog spleens is pointless. I have yet to play an MMO where you didn't have collection quests. Its the nature of the beast. I'll take the collection quests anyday over run half way across the world and give so and so this letter. Then so and so send you back across the world with a reply quest. At least with grind quest you get experience from killing the mobs on top of quest xp.

As Edav noted, Age of Conan has collection quests, too, but if it says you have to get 20 blue gems off of pirates, rest assured you only have to kill 20 pirates. Maybe 22 if your luck sucks.

City of Heroes.
Sorry for being a little picky, but wasn't it City of Heroes with the Zookeeper badge that you had to kill 10-billion of those alien monkeys? Thank god for my fire-ice tank.

Back on subject (sorta) can we get those recruiting bonuses for EQ2 please?!? Those are pretty awesome bonuses, especially the friend teleport!

Badges are completely optional, though, and you have to get a full set of badges to get any buffs worth talking about.

I've had dozens of Heroes & Villains and I think exactly 2 ever worried about badges at all, and then not much. It's just not important to your character's viability at higher levels. Especially now that you can craft your own enhancements - some of those are really sweet.

Sorry, I only played CoH until just before CoV was released. At that time, after you maxed lvls, there really was not much to do other than collect badges. Also, all the quests for CoH pretty much involved zoning into an instance and clearing it of bad guys, repeatedly. Don't get me wrong, it was a refreshingly fun game. But after a while, (at that time) you've pretty much seen and done everything the game had to offer over and over again. I dunno about now, but repetition was pretty much a core part of the game (much like every other MMO).
