This tulip, the Semper Augustus, was said to of sold for 5,500 fl (think $150,000) and offered for sale @ 10,000 right before the market collapsed.

When Charlie Chaplin entered a Charlie Chaplin lookalike contest, not only did he not win, he didn't even make the finals.

The largest number of children born to one woman is recorded at 69. From 1725-1765, a Russian peasant woman gave birth to 16 sets of twins, 7 sets of triplets, and 4 sets of quadruplets.

Would you prefer something like ... over the life time of a windmill blade the tips will always be traveling faster than the base. Therefore even though it was all mounted at the same time, the base will be in existence longer than the tip.

Star Trek style force fields already exist, they are called plasma windows an are capable of withstanding a pressure difference of up to approximately 9 atmospheres (ie with a complete vacuum on the other side), or ~132Psi (~4x the pressure in car tires). They readily pass light and other radiant energies, and can be color tuned based on the plasma used. They are created by magnetically confining plasma to a plane. size is currently limited by power demands.
