Hiding individual avatar images

I know Cris posted how to do this on a thread not that long ago, but I haven't been able to find that particular post again despite numerous Searches. So could someone please re-post how we can supress individual avatar images without turning off all of them?

Beebo, Cris may have been referring to the "AdBlock Plus" plug in for Firefox (highly recommended). I leave AdBlock Plus off for most sites, since places like SLU need ad revenue, but use it to turn off overly annoying sites (like ESPN.com) where they're just being annoying with ads (or ones that start making noise without hitting a button).

You can also right click any image and block it individually using AdBlock Plus (right click image, AdBlock Image), or make rules (like block www.sluniverse.com/avatar_images/* if you want to block all).

Regards,

-Flip

Well drat. This won't do me any good since I'm using IE (and have no desire to change over to Firefox).

You know, she was probably referring to recursive Hasselhoff should it come around again...

This works with IE (I won't ask why you insist on using IE, I am a total Microsoft whore and I won't touch the thing):

Adblock Pro : Make your browser faster and cleaner with no ads

It says it supports blocking individual elements, which is what you need.

Also, for those using Opera, I seem to recall it has a built in ability to block individual content.

yes.

At the top of this page, go to "User CP" then in the menu on the left (under "Settings & Options") click "Edit Options. Then about halfway down that page, in the section titled "Thread Display Options" uncheck "Show Avatars".
