Self deletion of threads?

Was there a particular reason why folks aren't allowed to delete their own threads? or is it a limitation of the software?

It would be nice to be able to clean up my own mess

Imagine the nightmare if someone deleted 'Nobody Cares' or the 'First Life Picture Thread' because they were having a snit.

Not that anyone on SLU would ever do anything rash, ever.

The stories i could tell of emotionally imbalanced forum moderators/admins and forums being deleted.

Nope never happens on the internetz.

Huh?

You can delete your own thread as long as there's only your single 1st post and no one else has posted to it yet. Just delete that 1st post and the thread is gone. I'm pretty sure that I've
done that once.

You can even delete your own posts in a thread if someone has already posted to it.

But once someone else has posted to a thread, its chiseled in stone...

Unless you bribe Cristiano with lots of $$$.

I futzed up and created a new thread twice earlier today. Neither thread had replies. I wasn't able to remove the extraneous post
