| Senior Member ![]() ![]() ![]() | my introduction to whiskeys was Jim Beam, which gave me heartburn, even though it tasted rather weak at the time. I did like that it was pretty oakey, but that was about it. I have since tried Maker's Mark (very caramelly to me), which I like, as well as Woodford Reserve (also enjoy - more oakey, but still sort of caramell-ish). I have also tried Knob Creek, but didn't find i liked it as much as the other two. I am trying Glenlivet 12yo single malt tonight and not sure if i find it all that distinctive compared to the bourbons, to be honest. That said, my preference is towards stronger flavours, being a regular barack palinka drinker. |
