Well about that, I wasn't really saying it as a response to what you said LOL, just a bit of a rant about the Euopean Union that has things to say about sizes of cucumbers, apples, strawberries and such. Not to mention what can be called chocolate. We have quite a few brands of chocolate that can only be called candy with chocolate taste Really, is this what we're paying them for

Oh I agree but it was milk we were talking about wasn't it.

I've read that there are a whole bunch of people that are faschinated by human milk. They drink it, use it in their coffee, just love the idea of it. And don't get all filled with dirty thoughts they get it from the source if you get my meaning LOL

I like the fact that you can't call some of the crap that is being produced "chocolate" . Mm, chocolate.

What does piss me off is that farmers are still not allowed to sell perfectly good food because it's too small or too big. Yeah, that makes sense.

And I'm just saying, that if you say "cow milk is for baby cows" you should be consequent and also eschew other unnatural things like, oh I don't know, the pill . But hey, maybe you do and I'll look like an idiot now .

Oh if it was only for classification of quality, I'd be all for it. I love "real" chocolate But when chocolate can't be called chocolate when containing both cocoa butter and cocoa mass and still can't be called chocolate because of the sugar levels, then it's wrong. It's still chocolate even though it's discusting LOL

Oh I do try to avoid things that I believe isn't good for you even though I don't think about waht's natural. What does that mean anyway. Am I not natural because I wear glasses? Oh I'm not saying you look like an idiot you did LOL

As far as cow's milk:

There is a USDA campaign about 1 glass of milk a day being healthy. It is cause you got calcium vitamins and all that. It is also one of the best sources of calcium with prevents osteoporisis.

More milk facts.
Facts about milk
They always claim that milk has a high level of calcium, but they can't explain why the nordic countries, Sweden for instance, has one of highest percentage of people diagnosed with osteoporoses. At the same time we're one of biggest consumers of cow milk.

From what I've heard, it's true that milk has a high level of calcium, but also a substance that breaks down the calcium.

Ever heard of genetic predisposition? You don't see many cases of osteoporosis in Africa and there isn't a big dairy industry there

Calcium can help to slow down osteoporisis, but genetics say its more then likely you'll get it regardless, if you fall into a certain genetic pool.

it's all a matter of definition. Some people won't call pizza with ham and pineapples () real pizza, and some of that weird flavoured crap that gets sold around the world is definitely not beer to me. But anyway, how...

Wait, actually I think I'd rather be arguing with Beau about slutty women. Oh, I guess he isn't around. He probably thinks he's too good to argue with me. I'll show him what-for!

Bla.. One scientist say this, another say this. Neither of us knows.

But I guess the milk industry knows.....

I don't think any of the persons in this thread will change after this discussion. They will just think hmmm, milk is tasty, I'll drink it. But then I need to find some really good reasons for it. Same with eating meat. With drinking alcholic beverages. With .. you name it.

I PROTEST!

I can't have either milk (lactose intolerant) or soya milk (no idea what it does to me but it is 3x faster and more painful than lactose intolerance).

Thank God for lactose free milk, and that I can still have some ice cream, all other forms of soya, and all the cheese I want.

There's a huge variation in taste among soy milk brands, IMO. I like 8th Continent Vanilla Lite or something like this. Most of the others, except Silk, I couldn't drink.

But I don't drink soy milk because it is more or less healthful than cow's milk or almond milk. I don't like either of those and don't drink soda or coffee, so it's nice to have alternative to water all the time.

I'm mildly lactose intolerant. I can handle a capuccino or a cup of hot chocolate once in a while, and cheese & yogurt (being fermented I guess) pose no problems. Thankfully it's not severe enough that I have to study labels on packaging to avoid it. But after a childhood of being made to drink milk, and always suffering sickness afterwards, I find the whole idea of drinking milk completely gross. I tried soya milk once and it was worse. But I don't miss or need milk enough to want to find a substitute for it.

It can still be sold here as goat milk. Then again, noone can ever claim those dumbfucks in Brussels are ever consistent.

About the health benefits. Soy gives you lower cholesterol levels. It's high in protein. And helps reduce weight. And it's better for the calcium levels than cow milk since it doesn't contain the substance that breaks down calcium.
It also lowers your sperm count. Obviously not important when you got tits, but I'm not touching it, ever. I'm still looking forward to breeding one day.

Oh - I used to date a lactose intolerant girl when I lived in Finland. She took these pills, can't remember. Lactase I think they're called? If she took those pills, she could drink milk and have milkshakes anyway without problem. She drinks a glass of milk everyday. And whenever we went on a date downtown, first thing she said was: "let's go get a milk shake".

It were yellow boxes

But it looks like the same product from the description - I just think she was taking a generic version of it, not the brand name Lactaid.

What group did they study. Lowered sperm counts don't seem to be hurting the Chinese any.

Do the Chinese really eat a lot of Soy?

I thought that was partly a myth to convince Americans to buy Soy Products.

Been a few months since I read about it, but I seem to remember something like that.

I would drink milk more often if Lactaid (or its more generic equivalents) weren't so damned expensive. As it is, the cost of these products means I can't have significant amounts of dairy products more often than a couple times a week.

Soy milk is managable as long as it is the fortified stuff. Most of the soy milk you can buy from a supermarket is fine. A lot of the stuff in Asian supermarkets is way more watery, and does not go through an additional fortification process after being brewed.

That said, I do find a lot of the brands offered by supermarkets either way too thick or way too sweet. I dislike 'Silk', but don't mind 'So Good'.
