Men, stop your whining about clothes in SL

Sorry, but I don't have a whit of sympathy for all you guys crying about the lack of good fashion for men in SL.

I just finished one of my periodic sweeps of Second Guy Clothiers mall at Sweetgrass and it was all I could do not to spend a few thousand Lindens on all the great clothes. This mall showcases fashions by some of the best men's clothing designers in SL and there's not a single crap store in the entire mall. From t-shirts and jeans to stylish casual wear to suits and tuxes, plus shoes, hair, skin and jewelry.

Special shout out to a relatively new designer who has some very high quality casual wear -- dan senyurt. Club shirts, sweaters, just regular wear shirts but with good quality cloth textures and styling. He's rapidly become one of my new favorites.

I also went on a spending spree at Cattivo, which has some of the nicest men's slacks I've seen in awhile.

The stores at Sweetgrass are far from comprehensive -- there are plenty of fine designers who aren't represented -- but the advantage is that this place pulls them all in one location for the guys who aren't inclined to store hop or keep track of the fashion blogs.

There are a lot of nice clothes for men available...it's searching for them that causes the whining. I know it took me a long time and a lot of teleporting to find a few places with stuff I liked. So the impatient will whine...and then the people who just like to whine will of course whine.

I don't think I've been to the places you mentioned, but will definitely take a look.

Envoy, this thread does not apply to you. You have a wardrobe that impresses me, and that's not faint praise.

i've never found there to be a shortage of nice clothes for men. i think the problem is that men generally don't like shopping, in RL or SL. most women on the other hand (like me), love shopping, even if it's just window-shopping.

this is why content makers who make men's clothing and accessories should sell them in a transferable version so that the women in the men's lives (girlfriends, friends, wives, mothers, sisters, daughters etc etc) can buy them stuff.

I went over to that mall, and for the 15 minutes I was able to stay in SL without the fucking client once again grinding to a halt and then crashing, I did manage to find a pimp suit that I sent to Lucifer I will definitely go back, there were some interesting stores I did want to check out. Thanks for the recommendation, Beebo.

Agreed. I have gotten some nice stuff that way, although I think I've ended up with more horrid stuff that way also.

Thanks for the link Beebo will check it out. I have to agree, there are loads of decent designers around these days for men. My current faves include Sidewalk (excellent indutrial/grunge clothing), Armidi (I loves my armidi hair), A store that begins with an M but I can't recall the name (how useful is that ) but I got a really cool coat there.

There are a hundred more that my feeble mind refuses to recall at this moment in time

Wow, what a great mall. Thanks, Beebo. It's everything you say it is, and I really love the design of the mall itself. I could easily spend 10.000 Lindens in that place. Lots of good designers, high-quality only stuff, I saw nothing there just to fill in space on shelves. Queer pride abundant, lots of selections, even a bar/cafe area near the LM zone to hang out, maybe meet friends for a shopping spree. Oh, nice men's jewelry, too.

Apologies for the necropost. I found this thread while searching SLU for good places to buy men's clothes. Is this mall still open? I couldn't find it in search, and I went to Sweetgrass and found a plot called Second Guy Clothiers but the plot was empty. Was I not in the right place, or is it gone?

Humps,

I'm guessing it was Muism. They do make nice coats.

For mainstream clothes, I've liked Truth, Aoharu (mostly their new shirts), Adam n Eve, and Armidi. Also Valiant.

I found Muism to be MUCH too expensive. Last time I went to check it was like 1200 L$ for a single outfit. While you can find a comparable quality elsewhere for 300 L$.

KMADD Designs City is another mall sim built for men. I recommend that one as well.

Madhu,

Second Clothiers is still thriving. If you haven't found it, I'll drop an LM on you.

Daman,

I do find Muism on the costly side too, to be honest (I've got just one coat from them, in fact). But the coats _are_ nice. Good use of flexi and flexi settings. Just not good enough to justify the expense a lot of the time.

Thanks for the info about Truth and Valiant. Never been there before and both places have some really nice men's clothing. Agree as well Daman that I find Muism to be on the costly side.

Some of my favourite male clothing stores include Sinistyle, Brogear, Clobber (does the best combat pants I've seen in a long time), Weird Monkey Designs, Civvies, Last Eden, and ON by Mai Runo does my faovurite boots that I wear pretty much all the time. And if Saeya Nyanda of Kyoot Army expanded her male range I would be so happy
