I am looking for a place to buy really, really good tattoos. I hate it when seams don't match or the ink looks smeared. I tried search. I tried looking at marketplace and then going to look at them inworld. I bought one from a large tattoo shop and I loved the design, but part of the design at the waist actually looked smeared (I couldn't see that in the vendor pic).

Any ideas of places I should try?

Oh lord it's been ages since I bothered with them, but you could try Addixxion (or however it's spelled), Garden of Ku, Huz Tatts, Tiki Tattoo, Para Designs and Aitui. Might not be to your liking, but they were usually well made.

Same here.. I'm always looking for really GOOD tattoo designers, been to all of the ones's ya mentioned, MoJo.

Leti's isn't bad. Not too dark, seem to match the seems fairly well. There's also Obscene Tattoo's, but their more Guy inks.

The ones I like best are from Artilleri, Silent Sparrow and Katat0nik...none of them are exclusively tattoo makers, but I just love their style and they're nicely made

Garden of Ku and Huz Tats are two of my favourites, always love Huz Tats and are made really well and look gorgeous. I don't think Huz Tats has a store in world anymore which makes me really sad

It is SO amazingly easy to create your own tatoos you might as well give that a shot as well. Just grab a body template, throw it up in GIMP, add a layer, and paste in something you found with a Google search. Robin Sojourner has a good template, and typing in "create your own tatoo in second life" (no quotes) brings up several tutorials.

You can run through a tutorial in about 5 or 10 minutes, and you don't need to be a GIMP god to do it - just follow the tutorial instructions and load the template file, add a layer, paste in the tatoo, resize and reposition it, anchor the tatoo, export as 32 bit tga, and upload it in Second Life. If you hate GIMP, paint.net is easier to use and (probably) can load the template as well.

Seriously, its just damn easy.

As soon as it comes to matching seams on large scale body parts tattoos or even making a vividly looking one that doesn't just look pasted onto a layer, it's a whole lotta different story and a reason why some folks would rather buy tattoos.

No offence to Robin's tutorial, not at all, but some 5-minute-paste-jobs might easily qualify for being showcased on here.

Tattoos are not as easy as you make it sound. Not if you want the kind that wrap around the body.

Sure, if you just want a little shoulder tat, it's not too difficult to throw a design on the back of Chip's upper body template and upload it. But matching seams for something like a dragon or vines is a serious bitch, and one of the reasons I don't really make them.

Of course I also don't wear them, so that might have something to do with not wanting to make them, too.
