Are you in the demo group?

Oh yeah I might want to add if you join the demo group be prepared for your messages to be capped for 2 days or so. But its way better than fighting the lag for demos, trust me on that.

I hate hair fair. Its always a nightmare trying to get around and I end up buying a dozen or so styles that go into the trash bin almost right away...and yet year after year I go back...

Maybe it's a good idea to join such demo groups, deactivate receiving group notices from that group and then manually check the archives when you log in.

That also helps with the "oops, I forgot to include (insert random thingy here). Here's a new copy of all the demos" messages, which I'm sure are purely coincidential.

At least there won't be any RedZone there this year.

Let's hope that the lag is a bit more bearable this time ...

Last years hair fair was the first big event I visited in SL. Horrible lag, crashes, a ton of awesome gifts and so many stores I didn't know before hand. So hair fair is kinda nostalgic to me. Maybe I won't be so impressed this year now that I'm familiar with most of the brands. But I have high hopes.

There was a lot of drama last year.
Sims sponsored by Armidi, top designers pulled out.

Everyone complained about the build.

The sims were not together.

The sims were never full except the first day, the rest of the time it was like 14-8 people max on each sim.

The important thing is, they have listened to all the comments, took them in stride and instead of emo quitting, they are trying to do better this year. Everyone is entitled to mistakes. Overall I loved last years concept with the exception of the sponsorship and promotion of Armidi, but the concept was too complicated for SL.

Just curious, why was the sims being sponsored by Armidi such a problem? I am bad at drahmah. That is what I get for being buried under a pile of onesies and diapers.

Also, I just have to say it because it has been KILLING me to not say it: I am getting sortof tired of fairs. It was find when it was a couple a year, but anymore it seems like there is a dadgum fair going for something or another at all times, for every type of content imaginable. One of these days I am going to drop a ton of tents in my sim and call it Fair Fair. We'll sell tents, and maybe popcorn. Hoorah!

Because it seemed like the whole point of the fair was to promote Armidi and not the charity.

I'll probably go this year just to see what's new on the grid since it's been over a year that I shopped.

But the drama sounds pretty much the same as the past years:

I hate it! It sucks! Too much Lag...why are THEY sponsering it..how come THEY got a better booth them me...why does the build suck...they could have done it so much better!

At least fair drama hasn't changed all that much.

Huzzah! Ohwait. Ima make drama for overlooking cotton candy!

/makes drama, gets bored, then distracted

Also, we can has gacha machines for differently coloured popcorn bags?

I'm very bad at following or knowing or realizing there's any drama going on, I just happily trudge along through things and go 'oohh shiny' and then have fun taking pictures. And enjoy popcorn.

I did join the demo group and I'm really looking forward to Hair Fair, to get back on topic. There's no higher, bigger and more OMG-MUST-HAVE SL addiction I have than hair.

But yeah, there are fairs going on all the time. I've changed my perception on them and other events from 'Eee, a special opportunity!' into 'the shopping specialties I should check of the moment'. Same with hunts, special sale groups and events. So much going on that there's no possible way to keep up with it all, have to develop preferences and sniffing-out-information skills~

Yeah no. Last year's hair fair was a real nightmare from a display and exhibit perspective.

Yeah I'll go- I always go. But I really, really hope they've fixed the layout issue.

I liked the candy-themed hair fair the best out of them all. ..Or was it not candy themed, just bright cartoony-colored themed?

Last years... I made it to two shops and was done..but I still have a few wigs from the first hair fair evah.

....yeah. This post is all over the place.

It was candy. It was the 2009 fair, and I agree with you.

The year before it was like a Maya/Inca type thing.

Hair Fair last year is where I got my baby cthulhu breeding tank hair.

I'm looking forward to more completely whacked out designs!
