Ugh, people go crazy for Stiletto Moody shoes and I am not seeing the reasons. Over priced regular high quality shoes.

The first time i saw a shoe that impressed the hell out of me, Ready Jack was the maker.

The second time i saw a shoe that impressed the hell out of me, Fallingwater was the maker.

The third time, it was J's toe shoes.

I am still waiting for fourth and Moody's is not doing anything that is supernatural in the realm of sculpty shoe production.

In fact, those Moody toe shoes with full on sculpty foot with the ugly ankle joining are horrible.

I just do not get it.

Kinda like, people are attracted by price more than anything.

They didn't mention the open tongued, distressed, trashy lady-biker boots at Redgrave which are my current faves. And I agree with Brianna, Moody's just doesn't show me anything except ordinary high quality shoes at exorbitant prices.

I just got a pair of those this past week and I agree, they are fantastic. I paired them with a long leather duster from ce_cubic and felt like I walked right out of a Kim Harrison novel.

A little disappointed to see almost all the shoes were sculpties. There is soemthing to be said for an amazingly well done pair of prim shoes. Some of my favourites come from enkythings. His style is also rather unique.

I did perve on one pair of shoes ot of that bunch i wouldn mind adding to my collection though

I paired mine with the Snake Charmer skirt and top from Kyoot and the effect is just awesome. You have to consider I spend 90% of my time in SL in evening gowns. I use my Porn Stars when I get the chance to dress in my grungies and go all neko. I'm going to check out that duster tonight!

I saw that on the writer's personal blog last week...some of it I agreed with, some of it made me want to shake her. I do not understand the hypnotic effect Stiletto Moody's script-o-rific shoes have on people. She had a 50% sale for group members right after the shop first opened and, even though I already thought the standard pricing was crazy, I joined the group and went to take a look, figuring that, if I fell in love with something, I'd be getting it for about what I was normally willing to pay for shoes. My reaction was a resounding "Meh." The only thing I saw that appealed to me at all were some plain pumps and I already had enough of those in inventory, of similar or better quality. Overscripting and pricing aside, there's nothing interesting or innovative about the styles, nothing special to justify those prices.

My feelings about Stiletto Moody shoes are, and likely always will be:

Moody shoes never fit me right and can't be modified. AND they have a pair of boots for 6000L. Anyone who pays that is an idiot.

Seriously people. I know SM is mentioned on the list I would be surprised if they weren't. We know we all collectively hate SM. Blah blah...

But while you all are complaining about about SM. I did notice that Pixel Mode was mentioned in rising stars. Tya makes some nice shoes and nice boots.

I'm a boot whore.... and I can't believe I missed those boots from Sweetest Goodbye and the Mistress Boots.

No love for Lusty? Lusty Fashions has a series of sculpted pumps, wedges and boots that are competitively priced and, in my opinion, well done. I own 2 pairs of her pumps and it's hard to tell the difference between them and the slightly-pricier Juicy pumps I own.

On the negative side: I took a long look at "Shoe Fly" shoes over the weekend and while they have a wide assortment of prim shoes I just was not impressed with their selection at all.

Where's Minx? She used to be the best shoemaker in SL, but I haven't been to her store in months. Is she still in business? Did she branch into sculpties or stay with prims?

Thank you.

PS: His Samurai armor is the fucking hottest piece of primwork ever made before sculpties. Seriously, it's incredible.

Not to get off topic. But I just got The Outlaw Demon Wails in the mail from amazon today!! I'm trying to figure out which movie that title is from. I knew all the others. A Fist Full of Charms was my favorite title so far. Edit: I found it http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Outlaw_Josey_Wales

I am very much a boot person and love my Shiny Things boots. I also love the Porn Star high tops - mainly for the customization abilities.

I do happen to have the UBU Tattoo Rain boots. They are very cool and I love that they don't go with anything I wear!

Every time I need shoes I keep going back to enkythings or shiny things. I know they fit me, look nice, are priced right and between the two of them I can find just the perfect color and shade I want. I am always willing to try other designs, but considering what Anessa Stine feels is top of the line I may have to question her other picks as well. Still, I think I might have to give them a try.

Did you notice the picture of the boots and the clunky uppers she was wearing? Not the most flattering picture. For a photo to emphize the boots, she could have scaled them down a little and shortened her legs to match the curves of the boots. But that would mean the attention would be on the boots and not the half naked pixel girl.

FWIW, my current favorite boots are the Random Straps from Bobbysocks.

Moody makes some good shoes. The build is good, the textures are top of the line but they just don't have the wow factor. They are just another good example for that type of shoe. Why pay Vera Wang prices for K-Mart style?

I never really liked her shoes either. I really tried too, buying several pairs over the first 6 or 8 months I was in SL...they just didn't do it for me.

Can we add guy shoes to the discussion too?

I adore Carter's men's boots and men's sneakers from Redgraves. The boots are on Carter's feet maybe 95% of the time. They come in small and large sizes and the small works well on Carter's shape. I went back there the other day with a wallet full of Lindens hoping to get more shoes. All the shoes were lovely but they didn't seem to come in the small size, so I didn't buy any more - I didn't want to drop 450L on a pair of shoes that wasn't going to fit.

Where else for good men's shoes?
