Gray Hair

I would like to start aging my avatar. Being perpetually 20 is getting boring. I also need a older looking avatar for some role playing I do.

The goal is not to look a hundred years old but a gradual aging process.
A little gray coming in. Later we can talk about a skin that shows some wrinkles or crows feet.

Perhaps some of you power shoppers out there can point me in the right direction. I have not done any shopping for hair in ages.

Thanks

Rox

Okay, I'll bite my tongue to refrain from mentioning that I sell skins for older women.

Either Nylon Pinkney or Toast Bard makes hair that would fit that description.

Got the skin thanks for the tip Beebo. That is a lot of skin for not much money.

Funny I thought the skin would be the hard part of the project. Still looking for hair.

Thanks again

Rox

Glad you found what you wanted, Roxie!

I'll be following this thread for tips on where to find hair. So far, what I've seen is either stark white or black with just a few little highlights. Nothing that hits that lovely middle ground of salt-and-pepper that I like and could use for future shape projects for older women.

If you like prim hair, you have to find someone who makes it. Or learn how to make it youself, which these days is a steep learning curve given the quality of hair designers on the grid.

For system hair, which looks coarse and unattractive as provided by the Lindens, I highly recommend Robin Sojourner's hair textures. The texture she uses for the system hair is glossy, nuanced, and comes in a range of colors. (It's especially useful for shopping trips to crowded sims.) One of her textures colors is gray/white.

Elika at ETD has a silvery gray hair called Nickle that I like. It's not salt & pepper, so it's definitely for later, but it's got high and low lights, it's shiny, and it's available in every style she sells.
