I'm looking for shorts like the ones on the left, complete with braces/suspenders. Preferably shorter shorts than that, but it really doesn't matter. If the outfit comes with a vest, long or short, that'd be a bonus. It'd also be superfantastic if it wasn't expensive. I've been looking through the usual, and not so usual, "post apoc" and "steampunk" stores to no avail.

Halp!

M & R Cupcakes has kinda what you are looking for. The shorts are short but have more of a high waisted/cumberbund thing and the braces and top are one piece . Actually you get a short and skirt set with different options. The set is 240l

Pixel dolls had something vaguely like that, I know. The one you're looking at is very cute, indeed.

That's actually a really cute outfit, albeit not exactly what I'm looking for. But thanks! I do love it.

I'm looking for more of a grungy, dirty look, basically that outfit but dirtied somewhat, maybe with tears, and without the high waist or cummerbund. I wish I could find an example of SL to explain it better than I apparently can, but that'd negate the need for this thread.

I saw someone wearing exactly what I'm after a few days ago but she TPd off before I could IM her or make note of her name. GAH.

Maybe Dutch Touch has something like it or check around Pulse, where Sn@tch is, I haven't seen anything like it at Sn@tch but one of the stores around Pulse might have something.

So, Pulse didn't have anything -- but I did pick up a couple things, regardless.

I figured out how to sum up the style of the outfit I'm looking for: Tank Girl. Dirty, tomboy-skank, guns and scrapes sort of stuff. I've been to so many stores that my eyes are starting to cross, but I'll find this outfit just on principle now.

Damn it.

D3volution was actually my first stop, along with Sinistyle, Atomic Kitty and the usual suspects.

Mourna came to my rescue and suggested Thimbles, which sells braces on the jacket layer. I need better shorts (the braces don't quite meet the waist of my ho-shorts from Abyss, unfortunately) and a dirtied-up tank top, but the most important part is over with:

Mournie.

I thought of that, and am currently rooting through SLX for some different braces and tank tops to mix it up occasionally. Lederhosen are a good option for decorated braces, if they come on the jacket layer separate from everything else.

I'm so thrilled that Mourna had the idea to just throw bits of other outfits together. I was so hellbent on getting the outfit that I'd seen on a chick a couple weeks ago, I didn't even think of an alternative.
