Skin Within now does a pick reward system. Add her place to your profile picks and after some time, you can pick up 6 different eye colours and two skin packs with shapes. Plus, there are 1L skins from time to time

Wow, L$1000 for some info that you can gather yourself with some time on your hand, like showing a screenshot in a styling themed group or bothering hardcore shopping friends or doing some digging for friends and allies of that shop.

Thanks, I'm going to check this place again.
I thought it didn't exist anymore.

Nora's BodySkins (I think that is how it is worded) is going out of business and has the skins priced at 100L each. Quality stuff.

I used to wear Nora, until I switched to my Nomine. Good stuff indeed.

I checked out Blowpop last night. Very nice skins. There was a freebie pack of the Mellie3 skins in all tones but no make-up. I thought what an excellent introduction: give someone something actually useful, then attract them back to buy the make-ups. Nice

I had this EXACT problem when I bought a (now discontinued) skin a couple of years ago. It was an expensive one (or at least it was for me when I was a month-old newbie), and in every other respect it was perfect, but there was always something about it that I couldn't get to look right, and it was a while before I realised it was the eyebrows that were all wrong, and I couldn't get the shape to fit them no matter what I did.

Much later I picked up a cheapy skin from SL Skins, and I like it MUCH better than the expensive one, it definitely fits my shape better. And the eyebrows fit, this time.

wow nice discussion on skins.

Right now, I'm looking for some skins to fill up my collection. The one I'm wearing is freebie in 2 different makeup. I still love it. I need to enhance my collection because I want to venture into modeling world.

Arilynn..thanks for bring up this topic. I myself not really familiar with skins. I do have good collection of hair & clothes. I'm still shy to ask this kind of question because my avs is almost 1 year old in SL

One basic question, how I can copy the shape to more modifyable or at least a way to check the shape is right when I don't wear it. I love the current shape but it's non-modify. As one of you posted in here, some shape won't work in some other skin.

If the shape is no-mod there is no way, ever, to change it***, and you can't see a shape without wearing it. If the shape is no-mod you can't see the numbers so you can't duplicate it by copying the slider positions. I would not even consider purchasing a no-mod shape because modifiability is SO important.

In your case, your only option is to find a new shape that's modifyable, or start from scratch by creating one, and just experiment with the sliders until it appears to resemble the original.

Domestic V currently has the entire line for 100L and then some skins on the wall for 5L. They are AWESOME. I am wearing one in the show your style thread.

Domestic V for dummies, please... the 100L pack contains all the 5L skins or a completely different set of skins? The pack was mentioned on a blog before, but I didn't care to check yet because I already bought the whole 5L load

Nieve, there's a "Skin Whores of SL" group on Flickr with a very nice list of skin designers - here's the link. You should also keep an eye on freebie blogs and groups, if they announce skin giveaways or sales.

Edit to add: Soda Skins put the abandomned custom skin orders on sale. Instead of 1600L, you pay 399L for a unique creation ... but the catch is that you don't know what look you'll get. Maybe a nice try for the adventurous souls

There are like 70 skins in the 100L pack. I had already bought all the skins on the walls, but the the whole shebang was worth another 100L

So I have 'some' duplicates but not many.

God bless the transfer option
At least some, if not all of the 5L skins are transferable...

Unless I'm serioulsy missing something like the mentioning of a prim height counter, I really don't know what prims you are refering to.

Voted over there, but I'll just say that it's between #3 and #4, and #3 strikes me as the best. The shape you bought may suit some other skin, but not that particular one. #4 is getting a little too much on the typically "cute" side, but like #3 it does have a mouth setting better suited to the skin.
