Skin Fair 2018

So, there is a shopping guide for the fair. There are a number of nice looking skins there. This montage is not complete: https://palegirlproductions.wordpres...n-fair/2018-2/

This one stood out, just rawr:

This excites me, beautiful new skin from League for Lelutka:

And there are a lot of exciting things out there for a number of mesh bodies and heads, even Vista's head. What seems lacking is anything for classic bodies, but I'm not sure that the list is complete just yet. We'll see, I suppose. I hope there will be choices for classic bodies.

I haven't examined every booth closely, but I've only seen 2-3 vendors offering system skins for head or body. Tattoos and other add-ons may be a different story, haven't looked that much at it.

also the event has an 50k arc limit for the first week, I dont go much to events, but for me thats the first time they enforce this. (not that I have a problem with it, my character is around 40k).

From what I have seen of the other Lelutka Bento applier on Nena's blog, it's probably Simone. But maybe she has a newer head, I don't know.

I know the PGP inworld group had an issue where somebody accidentally sent out a blogger pack, but I guess most designers didn't get the memo to resend their demos or maybe didn't intent to send one in the first place? Out of 200 designers at the fair there is about....25-30 demos in the group notices?
So it looks like I have to battle the crowds to get the demos of what I like anyway.

The demos were so numerous it was kind of a pain to find what I was interested in so I jist gave up. Maybe they should have numbered them to match a map for the event or something.

Is there a map? I got into the north half then cammed around trying to see if anything interesting was there. These mesh heads are kind of annoying because half the time its not clear of its a full akin or makeup and you find its one head only.

At this point I'd wait til the rush does down if you can. I got in the day before because or if my groups had early access, and it was tiresome enough having to look in almost each and every shop just to find out if they had a skin that would even go on my LAQ head.
I was really surprised that there was so little in the way of Omega appliers, mostly makeup.
It would be helpful if they had more info on the Skin Fair blog as to what could be found where.

After skimming the shops the first day, somehow managing to get in on an alt, though I had to remove my hair to meet complexity restrictions. I didn't really find a whole ton I wanted. I don't have a mesh head so that is probably part of it. There was a freckles applier that I think was jist freckles and omega I may go back and check for. I didn't even find the one thing I was looking for for said alt so they must have been one of the empty shops, I decided I didn't need it anyway.

My main take away is all of these heads and bodies and appliers and skins and make ups, its kind of insane how fractured this whole market is.

Also I discovered that the "Katina" or maybe "Ketina" body is a real thing. Some guy spams some of my groups looking for someone who uses it, and nothing came up when I searched just to see what it was.

I bought that Jordan applier in the OP post for my Aesthetic store model. I didn't realize it was just the face, which was a little disappointing. I like the bald look but the default bald look of the Aesthetic body seems to be really whitish in color (white like white not white like caucasian).

I managed to buzz around the fair last night, shortlisted several things I want to buy. I think there's even less Lelutka appliers and even more Catwa appliers than last year! Apart from LAQ there was only one Omega applier compatible with my GA.EG head from Adam & Eve and it didn't suit it anyway.

I think you have to go to Birth to get the body applier, there is no way that they would offer a skin that doesn't have a body match. I know Aesthetic is rather ... ashy, that's why I dislike the skins that come with it. That's the way things go these days: they expect you to get the body applier and then use whatever head to go with it. Yes, the market is really fractured now.

Which is itself annoying. Because it essentially artificially inflates the price. Its like selling a car but the tires are extra.

I had no problems getting in. Made 3 visits to snag the Valentina exclusive from Altamura. Have to be a group member to get the head/body full version for 300L. Gifted it to a couple of alts. Then made a trip to gift it to people who weren't premium and were getting frustrated.

I like Val. Maitreya outfits work great but slink shoes work best. Luckily I got both of those in stock. I've not tried any other skins but it is omega compatible.

The whole mesh body/clothing market is more like trying to buy a car, but you have to buy the chassis at one store, the doors at another, the engine at a third, and so on; then having to try to figure out how to put it all together. And there's no guarantee that all the parts are compatible with each other.

I compiled a list of brands with Omega appliers, posted here: https://www.plurk.com/p/mo0jmr

I did it before everyone was setup (maybe 20 or so stores to go), but it should cover most.

Fair was great... got to practice my camming skills... then made an alt into Ruthie for the actual shop, good thing she kept her outfit from nob island, came in at a nice round 1K. As a bonus I think her appearance scared away the fashionistas.

She is now bedecked with maitraya, leultka and a nice fiore applier. Now where to get a descent t-shirt.

on first day I saw plenty of peeps above the 50k limit walking around, so it seems like they dont enforce it.

I got kicked before the opening and it was because of an old pair of earrings. Trust me, it doesn't take long before you get kicked.

If they kick me because of my ARC, I'm going back in nekkid. It is a Skin Fair, right?

But in all seriousness, I usually wear system clothes and short hair when I go to these things, so it shouldn't be an issue.

Its not hard to get under the ARC. My main account (me) is like 90k so it would be trickier but I was more interested in possibly outfitting alts anyway. One I removed her hair and dropped to like 40, even with a Maitreya body. The other was the full basic Smith Aesthetic with a T-shirt from my store and he was already below the limit.

It seems high, but chances are unless you are super loaded, it would be easy to skim under for a bit.
