Hello there, I've been using Second Life for educational purposes for the past year and a half. However, I've never done anything more complicated than creating an avatar and teaching others the basics about SL (walking around, chatting, flying, etc). In one of my classes at school, my professor found out I had "experience" in Second Life and volunteered me to work on one of their projects.

The project requires adding some animals to an Aztec Marketplace, like a turkey and a dog. I tried to tell him that I've never messed with objects in SL, but he thinks I can figure it out since I know the basics. So I'm forced to ask you guys for help!

What is involved in finding animals and making them roam around our little marketplace? I thought I'd found some pets I could use, but it turns out they only follow instead of roaming. Do you know anywhere I can find dogs (Chihuahua, in particular) and turkeys, and then tell me how to set them to roam a particular area?

Like I said, my knowledge of SL is really basic, so I'm pleading for some help so I can do well on this project. Thank you so much for any help you can offer!!

I wonder if you can point me to some tutorial in blogs about building in SL?

I google it, but I get a load of videos. For some reason, I don't like videos. I only have one monitor, and switching between a video and SL is not a good solution for me.

And, I often read on internet while the kids play or watch cartoons. I have no sound on. Videos are pretty useless then. I don't think a building tutorial is wrong to see for the kids, but I don't want them to hang over me. Sound attract them, silent laptop = mummy are doing boring stuff.

I can make a prim, hollow it, and cut it. I can't make more advanced stuff with taper and those other things, to make prims curl like a drape. I know about ordinary texturing, and I can use a DIY sculptmap and put it in a megaprim to make a big roof. I know I can use the magic wand and copy prims. So I know some basics, but I bet I have only scratched the surface. I am sure I do a lot of things the difficult way because I don't know any smart tricks, except how to duplicate prims. Most tutorials I find are just basic stuff.

I don't want to start a business, I will just tinker around and build a pretty house. I have never bought a house I don't want to change, so I really would like to try and build one.

Hi. I'm a fairly experienced Photoshop user, content creator and have produced textures using the masked TGA process as well as saving as PNG (which generally suits my purposes perfectly).

My question is this: I have purchased several textures, with transparency, from XStreet, and saved them to HD - and opened in PS as TGAs. How can I now convert these TGAs with transparency into a simple PNG layer?

Interestingly the seller couldn't answer this question.

Thanks in advance...
