Texture Layout for 8 face Xyzzy script

I hope this is the right place, since its texture related. I'm looking for some way of setting up textures for fonts for the 8 face/16 character version of the xyzzytexy scripts found here: XyzzyText - Second Life Wiki [its the one at the bottom]

I can very slowly work out the texture layouts, but it probably wouldn't be perfectly synched [photos of textures are erratic at best], and if I could find an easier way, it would be lovely.

Any help is appreciated, I've tried googling and binging for a while now with no luck.

That's my problem, I can find stuff for the older prim versions, but nothing for the mesh one which is a lot more efficient. Okay, guys, thanks - I guess I'm making a hud to apply all the textures one by one to a prim and taking all the pictures. O.o

You need to check the offsets in the script. That will give you an idea of how the script is reading the texture grid.

If you try using a UV map style texture with the script you'll find out what the grid needs to look like.

But yes, those texture keys are a bugger on their own!

I think the script is using 40+ textures for the fonts - maybe I just need to figure out how to mod the basic one for using with a simpler set-up.

Eh, this project is becoming a headache.

It's because it uses 2 characters per "cell". You need to have enough to cover every eventuality of character combos. Stick to lower case or all capitals and you halve the workload!

I made a much simpler version that only used one character per "cell" or face. The resultant texture was one 1024x512 texture map.

you really do need the larger amount of textures for the longer lines of text.

the other option would be to make your own mesh using the prim version layout. you could then use the photoshop layout option mentioned earlier in the Wiki page.

I found this. I hope it is what you're looking for, and that it works.

Got company right now, but that might just be what I'm looking for, so I'll give it a try tonight or in the morning, and let folks know - if I'm looking for this, then I'm probably not the only one.
