RL Steampunk Mod

The ignition switch was touchy and a new one costs $85 plus so I decided to do the first Steam punk mod to my bike.
I made 2 brass plates to cover a hole in the fairing and hold switches and gauges. One replaced a plastic cover.

The 3 - 3 way switches have to be in the right positions and the key on to run the bike.
I still have a couple gauges to mount and I prettied up the instrument panel.

There's a whole page detailing the Mod here.

Progress

I'm kinda liking Zephyrus for the name but I'm still working on that. That would mean it's a "he", which kinda fits actually.

Made new panels 'cause I wasn't happy with those,

and added a "Dome Light".

Full details here.

Thx =)
I am having a blast with this part.

I want to put "on-the-wall" copper plumbing in the RV. That means sweating pipes and stuff.
I don't know how to sweat pipes.
I'm not gonna waste money on expensive parts to practice.
I know, I'll make a copper luggage rack!

It has 2 mounting points for the larger luggage rack I have planned. I made some cool trim plates too.

He's shaping up!
