Erm, just checking, but does everyone realize that the contestants are just painting, assembling, and dressing doll parts they've purchased from that site? They're not responsible for the weird structure of the faces, except in that they picked that particular head.

You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things. Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

Cris, I've only seen ONE RL baby that ugly ... no, I take that back, it didn't look that bad .. the RL baby I mean

When Wilde is burned alive by the crazies from the LL forums for daring to start this thread, can I have the girl in her avatar to play with?

Please?

Her friend (who posted on the SL forums) was a tool, but I'm a writer and I would be very disappointed and hurt to discover that something I entered into a contest was being picked on because a friend of mine made an unrelated post about it someplace else.

Both threads made me LOL.

I don't feel bad at all.

Agreed (even though I do think all dollbabies are creepy as sin). The reaction over there just begged people to poke the bear, though.

Well yeah, her friend is a complete idiot. I am just not comfortable making fun of someone else's artwork (even if the babies do wig me the fuck out) on the basis of her friend's shit behavior.

Like I said it's a better doll than I could ever make.

I found this interesting article: Lifelike dolls repel and attract | Editor's Choice | Reuters

They basically sound like more expensive, more wrinkled Cabbage Patches. Some of them are cute, like any assortment of real babies, but .. yeah.

I actually pulled my post from this thread.

I posted here for two reasons: 1) There was actually no justifiable reason for it to be in RA. I mean people stretch things as it is (since it's really supposed to be for resident q&a), but that was just silly. 2) Those dolls REALLY DO creep me out. And I thought that was funny.

Art is totally subjective. If the Mona Lisa had made my skin crawl the way those dead baby statues do, I'd be posting about that too.

So I wasn't saying anything about the artist. Just the art. And when you make your art public, people will react to it. Nothing wrong with that.
