Business: Culprit Client: LL beta | phhht nobody jumping in... ok this is what i am working on.. its for SL sculpties but here is a high poly ver of it.. for rendering.. i will probably model on the high poly to give it a little more detail before baking though.. but this is the topology for the sculpty version. in the end he will have a complete body too |

| fractal networker ![]() ![]() ![]() | Very nice Eku! I have been playing and practicing alot in Zbrush and now also in Sculptris. I am getting excited about mesh import and was thinking about starting a thread for people to post pics of possible mesh imports. And pics of objects that have under the required limit on mesh. This pic of Torso Guy was made in Sculptris and has 60500 tri's, how does that translate to vertices? Since the ceiling on verts for mesh import is 64000? [IMG] [/IMG] |

Business: Culprit Client: LL beta | i have absolutely NO idea how to convert tris to verts or active points to verts.. i think its going to be a fun journey though.. also now we can use sculptris to decimate the obj files so i dont think its going to be much of a problem |

| Okies ..... I wanted to make a 50's style stove to match with a 50's kitchen set I made so I spent an hour or two playing this evening and here it is so far. A mixture of Sculpted prims done in AC3d and normal prims in the parts which needed a strong shape rather than rounded edges. |

My Mood: | Yay! Humps made an EZ Bake Oven! Just dusted off this project, which I'd shelved on account of RL for a while. I got it rigged and did an elementary gallop, but I really need to polish a bit. Edit: make that a LOT. Gah, and learn Lua :/ ![]() |

| I can barely sculpt and will only do it if I can't find something to buy. This iron bedframe is my promo for this week (also a bass version). I used Prim Oven, Sculpt Studio, and blender. It took me a long time because I kept trying to do things in Blender that finally took me 5 min to do in Sculpt Studio. I suppose I must have learned something in the process but I can't think what. Also made the bed skirt (Blender) and lamps (Rokuro). Bought the other bed stuff. I don't know what to think about mesh. I think it will be good if I have more wholesalers I can buy mesh from. But there will be a downside, too -- a lot of ripped stuff, for example. I just don't know how it will shake out. I suppose if others can learn mesh I can too -- just ten times more slowly.

Work in Progress. They need bodies and paws! Done with ZBRUSH. ![]() Cutie Chainsaw. Work in Progress. Needs lots of scripting and blood mwhahahhaa. Done with MAYA.

My Mood: SL Join Date: October 2004 Blog Entries: 1 | Yeah, sculpties are a hack. Their implementation necessitates anyone trying to make them go through a lot of work to get them to look decent, and that's extremely difficult to do. The difference between the way something looks in Maya compared to how it looks in SL is extreme. Whereas meshes are basically WYSIWYG, when they're enabled in SL you can just upload content from another creator and it won't be nearly as involved to get something looking nice within SL. |

| fractal networker ![]() ![]() ![]() | Human doodle. [IMG] [/IMG]Put a face on this one. It is funny as I did this one while watching tv. And did not notice that I put so much detail compared to the body. One of the dangers of dynamic tesselation. ![]() [IMG] [/IMG]I wasnt trying to draw anyone in particular but I think it kind of looks like Richard Dreyfuss?? haha. Also gesticulating with little flippers. hehe. [IMG] [/IMG]This above image of the body and face is 307,000 tris. Pretty much doubled the tri count with the face work. This image is with the model dessicated to 136,000 tris. Seems to do pretty well with the decimation. [IMG] [/IMG] |

Business: DG Productions Client: Firestorm Blog Entries: 5 | This is a 13-prim reconstruction of a Roman Scorpion. Almost all the prims are sculpties I created--the only exceptions are the rope prims. The original all-standard-SL-prim prototype for this required a total of 81 prims. The sculpties were created with Sculptcrafter. So here 'tis:

Business: Timetwist by A2NZ Client: Official Viewer | I just realised -- it litterally just kicked in now, taking my breath out and all that -- that I'm making 3D stuff. Albeit rather simple, but, you know. Who would have guessed? If not for SL, I wouldn't be doing that today. |
