Buttercup without a witty
retort? Huh, imagine that!
| What are the dimensions of the texture you're working with? Obviously the larger the texture (i.e. 1024 pixels), the better off you are. But since everything in SL is a trade off... With your desire to get it as clean as possible and to use transparency, I'd suggest keeping the height of your texture as "short" as possible, say 64 or 128. You end up with say a 1024x128 graphic, which will help somewhat to lessen the amount of texture memory it takes up in-world (as opposed to a full 1024x1024 texture). You need the dimensions of the prim you set it in to match the stretched aspects of the texture, but that's easy to work out. Anywho, there will always be some level of blurriness with text due to the pixelization you get in a bitmapped image. No matter how good the anti-aliasing tools are in a graphics program, it can't duplicate the smoothing nature of vector graphics within a bitmap texture. |
