This thread is making me so hungry!
I live in N.Ireland, and every Christmas we have..
Roast turkey
Mashed poatoes
Roasties
Cranberry sauce
Gravy
Brussel Sprouts
Carrots

(yum) we would then have xmas pudding or else a black forest gataeu, or maybe sherry trifle!

Oh, I might include the sprouts, though Americans will find them out of place. I just so happen to know where to get an excellent sculpted sprout.

Does the individual serving of the pudding go in a bowl or on a plate?

And, how important are the Brussels sprouts, really? Is it just not Christmas without them?

Sprouts are to christmas dinner what pumpkin pie is to thanksgiving! Even those that hate sprouts still serve them! lol

Plate or bowl... though i prefer a bowl so the custard is easier to eat :-)

The pud goes in a bowl.

And sprouts, whilst widely considered as the Devil's Own Food, are served by absolutely everyone. And ignored by almost everyone, as well. One of life's little mysteries, are Christmas sprouts..

Same with sweet potatoes here, though I adore them personally. It is not Xmas without them.

Okay, I guess I will include sprouts in an optional bowl to put on the table. but every sprout is one prim!

Sure, if my mom makes 'em.
My dad might make 'em too though, and they're just as good.

She seems to have taken it as an insult to be called adorable. Well you just can't avoid offending some ppl.

Seriously, I once started a thread in Xstreet about being a huge Anglophile. It was quite popular (except for some Brits who complained about high taxes, etc., and one who had the temerity to point out Churchills' flaws).

No, I think it was the "You really have no idea" line - I bet Cat read that as a comment on our food, and not on how adorable we are (which we clearly are ).

Well, if she comes back to the thread, I am sure she will clarify.

Could be, but I don't see any context of criticizing British food -- and obviously I am making an attempt to immortalize it! Maybe the video before my post -- but I could not understand any of what they were saying.

Butter, lard, and every other kind of animal fat to ruin your complexion, and candy to rot your teeth. The brussels sprouts at Christmas must be for penance.

I'm sad for all the poor Brussels Sprouts of the world. I like them just fine! Had some tonight with dinner.

For the record I'm a huge Anglophile too, though I imagine the UK people might think that whole idea is weird. Also think they are pretty adorable with the 1000 different accents on one cluster of islands, and witticisms and whatnots.

Sprouts are a great after dinner food. We play Snooker/Pool with them about 6 pm. Saw Faggots and peas in an earlier post mmmmmm. Absolutely love mushy peas, even sneak em onto my Xmas dinner plate If i can be bothered to make an Xmas dinner, as i live alone.

All righty, I have solved the Brussels Sprouts problem with a minimum expenditure of prims: click the pan of sweet potatoes and they turn into sprouts. Not as cute as sculpted sprouts but I just hate to spend the prims.

And the Christmas pudding is a menu choice -- you touch to turn the BLUE flames on and off. Individual servings in a bowl with sauce on it.

Hmm I'd go with spoon but some people use a fork. Don't think it matters too much.

spoon = working class, fork = middle/upper class
