Thumbs down Noob Question about Texture

HI All,
I'm new here and learning to create stuff for SL, recently I'm working on textures and I've come across items/single prim with their texture being labelled 'Multiple'. I don't quite understand what it does exactly and how do you make them? I've search everywhere without any clear answers about it.. anyone kind enough to enlighten me? Thanks!

An object can have a different texture on each face. So for example, a cube has 6 sides, and can have as many as 6 textures displayed at once. You do this with the 'select texture' option in the build menu, and then select each side and apply the relevant texture.

If you edit the object, and use the same texture selection tool, you will notice that the multiple changes to display the texture for that face. Pressing Cntrl-Alt-Shft-T will print which texture face you are working with in the little chat box.

Hope that helps.

"Multiple" text on the texture window happens when you've selected a bunch of prims that have multiple textures or one prim with different textures on different faces.

Or what Bams said.

It used to give you the texture UUID too, but they took that out when people whined.

I once used it to catch a thief.

Not sure. I've been using it as long as I can remember. If you use the key combo without selecting a single face, selecting the entire object instead it will print out the texture info on all faces. Otherwise, if you select a single face, it reports the number of the face and the resolution of the texture on it.
