Blender Help

I wasn't sure where to put this, but I'm desperate to get this to work properly and have had no luck with plurk or with the official blender forum so far.

Okay here's the issue:

I'm on Windows 7. I run the current version of Blender.

While working on an object using the screw modifier, I was suddenly unable to rotate the object with the mouse (I use a three button mouse with a scroll wheel). I also cannot move anything in the UV map window using the mouse. The mouse works just fine in other apps.

I unchecked the manipulate center points button here

That didn't work.

I hit N and brought up this panel to make sure the padlock buttons were all unchecked. They are.

I then tried to open a new file. I can't even rotate the default cube.

After that, I thought closing and reopening blender might help. It didn't.

Then I did a clean install, including reuploading the latest version of blender. That also hasn't worked.

Is there any way I can get the use of my mouse buttons in blender again?


EDIT: I have tried LOAD FACTORY SETTINGS on blender. I have also done an extra clean uninstall and reinstall. Still no dice. I cannot figure out why my mouse refuses to work in blender the way that it should. I can grab things with the mouse. I just cannot rotate things. This makes the application totally useless for creating.

In Queso Emergency 
File -> User preferences -> scroll to very bottom -> there should be four boxes -> change Free to Orbit.

if thats not it and you have a logitech mouse.. you might need to get SetPoint - Logitech Support and set the function of your middle button/scroll wotsit

That didn't work. And none of the buttons on the mouse will rotate the object.

Thing is the rotation was working fine, then it wasn't right after I used the Screw modifier. I guess it was for more than making coils. it has screwed me royally.

Unfortunately I don't have another mouse. Plus, the mouse works for all other applications. It just doesn't work as expected in blender.

Check if the serrings are blender left behind when you uninstalled main Blender. or even try creating a new user account for blender adn see if it runs ok that way.

Cheesey I know bt if it works, suew beats closing the store

I'm not familiar enough with blender precisely, but when I have odd things happen with software in general that isn't usual, I usually delete the preferences file and restart. Might be worth making a list of all your existing prefs and then moving the existing one to force it to remake it when restarting?

Hm now thats really an odd issue.
All i can think about is a damaged maouse, or setting the file to Mac support by mistake.

Althought if it is a Logitech Mouse there could be another issue take place.

- Open Logitech Control Center in your System Prefs
- Select your device > Configure
- Select the 'Wheel Button' entry, change it from 'whatever it shows' to 'Click'
- Select 'Middle Click' in the Details pane

There are known cases where this setting just switches ... for whatever reason.
If it isnt a Logitech mouse its maybe worth to look into the general Mouse settings and if that mouse has separate software for assigning funktions, look into that too.

Running win 7 here and i use a logitech M510, no logitech software i use because it
isn't necessary to use any software for this mouse and many other brands.
Only thing i usually do is putting the cursor speed a bit lower in Windows >Start>Settings>Control Panel>Mouse>Pointer options, it's set to the 4th mark from the left there.
In Linux even the slowest setting is too fast, so in Linux Mint i use a script that is read at startup to slow it down even more ,wich i prefer.

After installing a new Blender version the first thing i do is enabling the "Emulate 3 Button Mouse", a option that you see in File>User Preferences>Input.
When that is checkmarked my mouse works pretty much the same as in the sl viewer,
using Alt + leftclick select in order to rotate a object.
I prefer that Alt and Leftclick over the annoying Middle mouse button select rotating,
also there the Continous grab is checkmarked.
Further there are a few more options such as trackball or turntable mode and zoomstyle as well as left and right button, here "Select with Right" is marked blue, thus selected, maybe one of these or other settings there were changed?

Thread hijack!

Bento export, I've been able to upload example DAEs with a working skeleton, but if I Import the DAE and export it again, the Skeleton option on upload is greyed in the viewers I've tried (SL standard and Firestorm.) Using Blender 2.77 with the SL Rigged presets. Am I missing a step or need a later Blender version?

Eta: Today I learned to remove all the damned face animations off the Vertex Groups when I'm just trying to do body parts or I'll exceed the 110 bone limit.
