No, the rules have not changed. You still cannot wager L$ on games of chance.

HOWEVER

A system has been developed to work within these rules, has been played by Lindens and is now operating grid wide.

I have put a board up at the Casino explaining and more information is available there.

As you this is your second post advertising your new scheme. I'd like to point out that the Lindens never approve any gaming machine so saying it has been "played by the Lindens" is meaningless even if true.

You have indeed put up a board in the casino but didn't bother to post your explanation here. I'll save you the trouble:

I don't play casino games in SL; I never have. I don't know anyone who had owned a casino nor benefited from one. I was never particularly bothered by them, either. I do - however - have a little antipathy to people who would scam other players out of their L$ and you've not been particularly forthcoming in your advertisements here. I fear for the people who may be holding a bunch of Z$ on the day you get shut down or decide to shut down.

Didn't linden ban gambling because it is illegal to gamble online in the US for anything with real value? Since $L corresponds to $US, its a real value. Saying $Z has no value outside the casino is just as poor an argument as trying to say $L has no value outside of SL. Its not a legal loophole.

It all works... until you can set the jackpot on the "skill" game based on your Z$ balance. At that point your Z$ has value, therefore illegal.

I was going to explain the "games of skill" exception to him (it ain't a loophole), but I think it would be lost on him. What it means, of course, is that you can give out prizes for events like a trivia contest, or maybe Tringo, or have sexiest thong competitions... or, come to think of it, ENHANCING THE HUMAN CONDITION competitions.

Jeopardy doesn't have people playing the slots for 20 hours and then answering a question like "What is 2 + 2?" to cash out.

I've wondered if I could turn my trivia thing into a legal game, however. I wouldn't do it without consulting Linden first, of course, because I'm not a complete idiot.
