You would probably see the downside if you had spent 3 years working your ass off to obtain islands, and in one blog what you worked for was devalued 40%. Yea in the end it will be better for sl as a whole, but I think it could have been a little more gradual so that the people who support sl financially didn't get hit so hard all at once.

I have to give LL credit - they seem to be attempting to piss off as wide of a group of people as they can with recent announcements. Website owners. Check. Land owners. Check. People with profiles. Check. People in groups. Check. Eveyone who tries to sign into SL. Check.

I had that same thought. Wasn't it last time that she knew about the price increase before the rest of the us and then went and bought a bunch of islands?

This is pretty much exactly how I feel. It sucks to have bought before a price increase., but I don't see that as a problem personally. I think the value of your land should be in it's use.

Maybe I'm missing something here. It seems like land barons make money without creating value, just buying and reselling higher. It seems like a very parasitic business.

I see this as good news, personally. A rare thing nowadays..

now if only they would lower the tier fees.

ya know, I really hate this shit. What that comes down to is.... "It doesn't effect me so I don't give a shit" I really don't care what you think you know about land dealers, but I know I work well over a 40 hour week usually much more, It's taken me almost 3 years to build up to where I am. Yea land I buy cheaper and sell higher and thats the idea. I also build on lots, try to make the community look nicer, I donate my 16's to arbor project because I can afford to so they don't become ad lots, I use some of what I make to offer things like my freebie paradise. I divide larger lots of land for people who can't afford big chunks and I keep a list of land people want at certain prices and try to find it if I can. I provide a service to others.

I see this type of comment on forums a lot, but thats alright because I know how hard I work, I know how hard I have worked to get what I have. It's like anything else, you get what you work for it's not all that easy and the ones who think it is aren't dealing land very long.

And like I said before I think a decrease is good overall, just not fair to do it all at once and screw over the ones who pay the bills at LL. I don't thing asking for a gradual adjustment is to much.

Not all the people that deal in land are the landbots that screw people out of land and money. There is value created. People help keep the market liquid. You need to sell quick, and get a fair price? Well, you know that people like Sarah will take the risk of selling the land for you. You may not get as much, but what is the difference between that and using a real estate agent?

The only significant changes in Sims in the past two days is that 76 of the shiny new CSINY sims brought online 2 weeks ago have all been removed leaving only 8 CSINY Sims on the Grid - There are no renaming of Dreamland Sims which could imply new ownership.
