My Mood:  | New SL Sims in past week In the next few weeks I'm going to be launching a second life service but here is a little taster Currently there are 17709 publically visible Main Grid Sims - In the last week 299 new Sims came online and 84 went off line. Some of these include renamed sims - later analysis will show how many are just renames. The names are quite telling - whilst there is a net increase in 215 regions in the last week it looks like Both Sprint and Mercedes Benz have dumped several Sims Details of whether the new regions are full or low prim sims isn't directly available yet. My Mood:  | Wow, very cool, Tyche!!! "Club Jenna" to "Ecstacy Islands". Is the former Jenna Fairplay and the latter Steve Mahfouz? EDIT: Answered my own question: No and no. (And !!!) Oh, I noticed all my new Openspaces were picked up in that list. =) I had to take the space out of DesperationNefertiti because the name was too long with it.  Hey Tyche... a rental business called Fantasyland recently acquired 103 used sims, and I'm trying to figure out who the old owner was. A friend has suggested it was perhaps Paris Druart? Any ideas? I'm also wondering what those Poppy sims were...

My Mood:   | I can answer the 103 SIMS question. The SIM seller was SBHoldings under the avatar Sana Barbara. Her profile says she closed shop for RL reasons. I ran across that info by accident when I visited an old SBHoldings estate and noticed Sirux (Fantasyland owner) was the new estate owner. I started checking all the old SB SIMS and noticed them "missing" off the map. Quote:

My Mood: | Todays Headlines : CSINY slips in another 4 sims, The Elves leave for far shores and potential naming conflict in the Gorean Region 243 new sims in the past week bringing the total of publicly visible main grid sims to 18249 including another 4 CSINY sims brought online in addition to last weeks 72. That's between 42-64 milliion dollars a year, assuming SL stopped growing tomorrow (which they won't). I wonder what the company's total overhead is these days... |

My Mood: | An interesting week, 76 of the new CSINY sims go off line - I wonder who paid the Tier (if any) on that short lived Grid presence - Corsica Continent is fleshed out further as 36 regions are named and finally the new Gaeta Continent is accessible (Just to the east of Corsica ) Its been visible on the map for several months but overnight LL made it accessible - The 48 regions all have Generic names (Gaeta_5_reg1 etc) This now brings the total visible number of main grid regions to 18348 ,that is unique names, there are another 133 generic Linden sims with duplicate names bringing the grand total to 18481. The new 48 Gaeta sims are in the new list as two generic names. The Renames are fun this time, Unfortunately the wonderful named CattySHack has become Port Luskan - still sounds a little Yiffy to me , and new privatisation of the prison industry has forced Convict Island to become Toy Slaves Brothel - A nice return for the shareholder. On a more serious note I see Sun Microsystems was renamed to Sun Microsystems 1 - Sign of more investment by industry to come ? | Is it possible they'll go in again later and terraform further? I find it hard to believe these sims would just show up on the map wholly formed without any tinkering. I agree, if they stay like this, it will be rather disappointing. |
