My Mood: | This week SL growth showed a slight spurt with a net increase of 323 regions still done on the peak but a marginal improvement on the 295 for the past couple of weeks In total 501 came online with 178 being removed (53 of these being renames) This brings the total size to 31129 Main Grid regions (26076 private estates and 5053 Mainland) Two multi-region private estates showed largish expansion .The Bellacere estates grow by 16 regions and the Azure Isles group by 12. For yet another week there was no new Linden owned regions detected . The New Nautilius continent has shown a moderate amount of further landscaping according to the Map but there is still no public access. The change in the number of Mainland from last weeks 2053 is mainly due to bookkeeping as I managed to identify another 29 Linden sim (one of which is new this week) 450 regions came online this week. These include an additional IBM research Region, The City of Enoch region which extends the Deserata LDS themed estate, 9 Gorean regions centered round the City of Hochburg and another 2 regions for Whilst I can detect groups of regions going off line, because I don't record (or automatically detect) Estate Ownership, its unlikely I can say who owned them but if they leave neighbouring regions from the same estate online then a bit of detective work I can trace the probable ownership (which is how I was able to report the ACS sims). When large groupings come online I try to make a physical visit just to see who the estate is. As a rule I don't do this for the smaller groupings unless their names intrigue me  . I didn't keep the individual weekly reports , though at a pinch I could regenerate them but I did report any large groups when I saw them. I now plan on making this analysis part of my weekly reporting. This week's report is typical, possibly showing a little less activity than normal with a lot of 2 to 4 region estates coming online (of course these may be being added to existing estates) and a few going off line. Only one relatively large estate came online this week, the 9 Hochburg regions. In previous weeks I rarely saw more than 2 or possible 3 10+ groupings coming online and even rarer for a 10+ going offline. | |

My Mood: | The Nautilus Continent has finally been opened to the Public and also moved within the Grid to fill the space between two older Mainland Continents. There is an overall Ancient Mediterranean theme to the 70+ region build and seems to be loosely based on either Ancient Greek/Cretan or possibly Carthaginian . There is a central multi-region walled Citadel (essentially a walled plateau) with a Canal entering through huge doors. The surrounding land is sparsely laid out with residences, markets, parks and temples. There are only about 25 to 30 of the 70 regions suitable for auction with the rest being water regions. I'd assume that they plan to auction plots of these off similar to the Bay City ones in whihc case they are likely to command high prices. Some interest in Mainland may be diverted by these, lowering demand elswhere but I doubt it will be as significant as say when the last new non-themed regions where being auctioned off as whole regions. | |
