My Mood:      | For what it's worth, visited Gaeta yesterday as part of the Metanomics field trip and have the following to say: Yup! definitely granite. Nope! definitely not all flat. The area we checked out was completely granite, but with large rolling hills. The coast has some promise, but only in the fact that it's oceanside and inevitably bound to be covered in palm trees once open to the public. Really hoping this is not the final state of the continent, but it's increasingly looking that way. |

My Mood:  | It's the last straw for me. The whole compelling Mainland concept seemed viable as long as the Lindens were willing to listen and experiment. But Corsica proved that the time for working with the residents to build a world had ended. That Jack requested input for Gaeta was slightly encouraging; but that Hope has been dashed to smithereens as the standard treadmill of lowest denominator was already churning out the same old terraforming, same old textures, same old attitude. It physically hurts me to give up on the Mainland; but I've reached a point of seeing no other reasonable choice. It's comforting to know that others still find the situation somehow amusing.

My Mood: | I have to retract my statements about Gaeta. It doesn't offer much hope; but the textures and terraforming *are* being updated rather well. Two sims seem devoted to Magellan's camp and an infohub. Perhaps the Retention and Concierge teams, which seem to be in charge of rolling out this continent, really are interested in engaging the Mainlanders and making the experience of living on the Linden estate a pleasant one. |

She doesn't actually travel , except when I'm being more nosey and start peaking around at the new sims - then its interactive. I do calcuate logical Sim Neighbours for all sims but not actual Simulator neighbours - that does require access to each region - I've a working version set up - but its not gone public yet as I'm more a back end programmer - my web design skills are poor  - Also I've not finished the in-world scripts which will use this database (For updating region map textures and producing sculptured height maps of regions) I have been thinking about a more intensive survey which would involve my bot visiting as many regions as it can - in that case I will be recording which server the region is running on. My Mood: | 15000 Estates online LL now have over 15,000 Private Estates online on the Main Grid There are 1532 Estates regions and a further 4595 Mainland regions currently accessible on the Main Grid - The 15000 figure was passed yesterday as they brought online a net 424 estates. |
