No, you haven't missed an announcement.

The release of this product was being held up by last minute development of a flight assist. The day the flight assist was finished, my landlord hit me with a big announcement that my rent was increasing to $25USD per month. This, I could afford, but he also mentioned that 1-2 months down the road, he would be forcing everyone to move to another sim he owns. At first, I focussed on the need to "have an update group".. so that people coming into my shop to buy the robot could sign up, and then they could be notified when I was forced to move. I spent some time stressing about whether to use a traditional "group" or a "subscribe-o-whatever" or something else.

Then I thought about it.. and realized that NOW was the time to move. Rip off the bandaid, and use the interest generated by the robot av, to drive people to a new location. I looked around at various other island estates I could move to, and finally looked at the math, and I decided to member-up and buy some land on the mainland, and move my store. Briana donated some tier to my store, and the last 9 days or so, have been focused on building a new building, setting up permissions, etc etc.

In order to release the robot av, the other vendors need to be set up in the new location as well, and of course all the landmarks in the product packages need to be updated. So that's my project at this point. Reboxing everything. Now's a good time to check the permissions on everything too.

So once that's done, I'll set up some vendors for my new shop (I may go so far as to slap together new vendor art for the old items from before I HAD this template, but I probably will skip that step at this time, because a number of the items need some work anyways, once the robot av is released.

So right now, I'm standing in front of a big pile of empty boxes... and my SLX vendor box is failing because I just moved it. Turns out it's WAY old.. so I'm pausing everything to update that, which will probably result in my needing to update my OnRez box and apez box as well.

So, while it is "just about done" it seems that no matter what I do, I need to work on some of my infrastructure before I can move forward.

That, and I need to talk to Lucifer.. because when it finally does come out, I think I need a party.

Is there something wrong with me? I had a rather long and detailed dream about the launch of your girl-bot. It was a nice dream though, part as if I was in SL and part as if your girl-bot was a real life Av I could be. It made me smile a lot.

Not to be TOO much of a tease...

The reboxing is done. The replacement of all of my vendors is done. The SLX boxes have been replaced, the inventory replaced, the listings all updated. The JEVNs have all been hunted down, and eliminated. The new affiliate vendor has been assembled and distributed to my affiliates. and a LOT of bloody planning has been done.

The building has been built, the vendors have been set up.

Tomorrow, I go back to work on finishing up the avatar. Permissions, prim checks, etc.. finalizing the vendor art, setting up a few accessories.

I still have classifieds to update, and profile picks...

More news will be coming on Friday, but the clock is ticking.

Here's how it looks as of Friday Night.

Robot avatar is done, perms are set, etc. Alternate hairs are built, scripting (to the degree that any of this will be scripted) is done. Jetpack is done. Store is built, vendors are installed, landmarks all-ovah-da-place have been updated,

To Do: Vendor Art. A small bug has popped up in the flight assist. I will be looking into that tomorrow. Moving the bot over, migrating my classifieds, etc.

Realistically, I think this is acheivable tomorrow, which means that the Girl Robot can (potentially) go on sale, beginning sometime on Sunday.

To this end, I have spoken with Lucifer, and it looks like we've planned out a bit of a "launch party" From 4pm-8pm SL Time, at the new ER Location, in Healy. ( secondlife://Healy/122/128/117 ). I'm not promising ANYTHING it terms of starting on time.. in fact I may very well be running around like a chicken with it's monkey cut off. But as of THIS moment, this is the plan.

Edit: Let me clarify that a bit.

Immediately following release of the Female robot, I will be "kicking back", spending some time on smaller projects, Some relatively "quick to finish" items that are quite close to being released. Things that have been enabled BY the work I did on the flight assist, and other technologies I've recently learned to use. Once a suitable number of these has been completed, (I'm guessing about a week or two) I will begin work on the male type robot.

Among some of the smaller projects, I have a couple of latex items, at least one will be finished. I'll also be finishing out a quickie request for Necronom, refitting my existing jetpacks, and HOPEFULLY releasing the long-awaited Prometheus flight pack From there, I am hoping to transition back to the robot project, with a relatively quick "Neko Upgrade Kit" for the female. (yes, a male variant will happen as soon as I have the skull for the male).

I have a to-do list a mile long, and even then, I know that it will take me ages to get to everything (and even then, some are just going to never get done). Meanwhile, new projects and ideas are cropping up every day or two.

The Male type is a definite priority, and I plan to release it both as a full avatar, and as a "conversion kit" (with a similar conversion kit to change the male "full avatar kit" back to female)... assuming that there's enough crossover parts to make that feasible.
