I would guess somewhere between 700 and 900 would be a good price point to pick.

Can I also say, please make a male version. Pretty please?

I want to stress again (or for the first time if I didn't before) that the cyborg I mentioned before has similarities to this bot here, but completely different look. Heck, the other is a cyborg female that looks more like a woman with bot stuff stuck to here (except for the legs). I mentioned the other for price comparison reasons.

And I hope I conveyed that I rather like the look of this bot.

Absolutely stunning avatar Winter. Your attention to detail is incredible. I love it. I want it. I don't think you should charge a penny less than 1000, and I agree with those who feel you could get more than 1500 for this piece. I have a tendency to under price my items as well. I want as many people to have them as possible. There is a balance in there somewhere, but I am no expert.

I really admire your work on this. Great job. Please let us know when it's for sale

If I bought it for 1500 (and I think I would!) I'd probably use it a lot .. and hope I'm one of the few.
If it was 500, it would probably be worn until I met another, then consign it to the back shelf of my inventory along with the multitude of KC foxes, cats etc, Batman and other Yadnis avies I have and only come back out for a party. That would be a shame for something that really is so original and beautiful.
Modifying it to be strictly ME would be important ... a pink mohawk with copper bangs perhaps?

Aww Warkirby! Don't get too frustrated by it, just use more tact next time!

There is a time and a place for constructive criticism. Someone asking to help price a completed AV doesn't necessarily warrant a critique of what you think is lacking. Saying something along the lines of "Compared to other fembots I have seen on the market, I would suggested 500L" probably would have elicited a much better reception.

$800-$1200L is fair and achievable for many people. Much over that and you get people hesitating and deciding against it.

Oh since it is mod i can pierce up the robot head.

I think it's great, and the work involved certainly pushes the desire to charge more up. I can't speak to comparable robot avatars, but I will say that complete latex outfits go for far more than $1000, and this seems to be far more involved than latex. I know that up to $1000 for something complete is an amount I'd spend without too much thought. More than that and I'd start wondering when and how often I would wear it. $1000 seems to be a good balance between impulse buy and considered purchase, yet values your work almost appropriately.

Sorry had to vote and post about it.

This is not an avie, it is a work of art you can wear. I voted over 1000 lindens. I would pay up to 2000 lindens for something like this.

If you are planning to sell it cheaper, think about making extra items, attachments, perhaps change of clothes, panels, customization sets for it and sell those for a higher price to create a sense of exclusivity and more revenue for yourself. :-)

Once again, good work.

Oh! Just a few more things. I forgot to say that your marketing ad is really nice too!

Let us know when and where you put it up for sale!

Finally I think having variations and upgrades as others have suggested would be a wonderful idea! You can have a boy-bot and your girl-bot, a cat-bot and a bat-bot, a red-bot and a blue-bot and a yellow-bot too!! (omg, why do I sound like dr. seuss!?!) Also some (relatively) simple upgrades to maximize profit could be a cat upgrade or wings or anything else your obviously creative mind can come up with!

I do think there is a good point in secondary accessories. Pricing the avatar at 600 or 700 and then making secondary accessories, like a different jetpack, hair, etc, that sells for 100 or 150 as well can make up for the loss of revenue off the base.

While Tenshi and Joshua make some good points about pricing and volume, there isn't anything else like this in SL right now. There are mechs and gynoid skins, but nothing both so feminine and articulated at the same time.

This is unique enough that I think you'd quite safely sell it over L$1000. Sometimes high prices are good because they ensure the buyer that not so many other people will have the same look. This is why some prefab builders charge out the butt for some specific models, because the price keeps too many copies from showing up on the grid, which actually makes the item more attractive to devoted SLers.

Fantastic work!

Do you have a sales target in mind? I'm betting there would still be a huge market for something as artistic as this in the $2000+ range.

I've started factoring in customer service time in the volume vs cost argument.

If you sold (pulling figures out of a hat) 100 @ $2000 vs 285 @ $750 the gross income is similar. But your customer service exposure has nearly tripled. I'm not sure how much handholding an item like this requires but also factor in tracking down SL transaction failures, etc. How much is that time worth to you?

Well I'm only going off of my own experience with sales for the past two+ years now, but in that experience uniqueness and so forth is kindof irrelevant to the average buyer.

Exclusivity is something else entirely though, but it depends on what you sell. Lost/Naughty skins are hellishly expensive yet all over the grid. I don't think Winter would have as much luck with this though as it's very niche despite being so well done. I think a higher price would be prohibitive.

I will agree with you there. I think she can aim for a more refined audience with this one. She wouldn't get major volume, but there is potential for prestige. This is exactly the kind of thing you'll get a hundred IMs for if you wear it out in public, people asking where you got it.
