The Vampire Lestat was my favourite of the Vampire Chronicles so I'm doomed to read Prince Lestat. Here's hoping it's better than some of her later attempts.

Mine overall was probably that one or The Vampire Armand, because he was my favorite character. I am looking forward to the new book a lot.

I tend to enjoy her early work including Cry to Heaven, The Feast of All Saints, The Witching Hour etc. She lost me when her writing became increasingly more religious as I couldn't be bothered to figure out what the heck she was actually saying.

On a related note; I met her once, years ago at a book signing. She was absolutely charming even after spending hours inscribing books & chatting to hundreds of fans.

I'm cheering for this latest release!

Can't speak to motives but...

I confess to never haven read the LeStat books. I'm not bit on vampires. I did read The Wolf Gift. I attempted the sequel but was bored to death. I hope she isn't just beating a dead horse. Sometimes there is one, two, three sequels too many.

Vampire Lestat and Queen of the Damned were two of my favourites and hope as well this new one will be better than the last couple of vampire novels she wrote.

It will be interesting to read as she said there would be no more Lestat stories after her husband's death and leaving New Orleans. She still remains one of my favourite writers, just a shame the films were such utter shite.

I, too, am looking forward to this book. I've been such a big fan in the past that I went so far as to order signed, first editions from a bookstore in New Orleans as she would release them. I even managed to find a hard cover (UK) edition of The Mummy, which was only sold in paperback in the US. I've been to a book signing as well. Like Tatiana stated, Ms. Rice is a lovely lady...very charming.

The first book I ever read by her was Tale of the Body Thief. That got me hooked. My favorite book by her though is Cry to Heaven.
