Nobody Cares - Bookies Edition

A good night last Tuesday night:

- Had a family style dinner with our close friends who kindly had us over while the hubby is out of town
- Worked out after the bedtime routine with the kid
- and best of all: I laughed myself silly last night watching the Vaginal Fantasy hangout with four drunk chicks discussing Diana Gabaldon's Outlander as the main book pick - while painting my nails

Aaand... the video is having problems being processed, so I can't post the link yet. But really it was a fun 1.5 hours

I'm in the middle of a novel (a good juicy part), and some +/- dozen pages are missing. I had just gone to bed last night, glass of water, sesame seeds, and book in hand, ready for at least an hour of reading pleasure when .

Dang it. I'll have to get another copy.

Locke Lamora Lives!!!

No idea if any of you have taken me up on my repeated recommendations to read Scott Lynch's "Locke Lamora" books, but it looks like the third in the series will finally be out in October after a 6 year wait!!

Quote:
The Orion Publishing Group (UK & Commonwealth) and the Random House Publishing Group (US) are thrilled to announce the publication of the third instalment in Scott Lynch’s popular fantasy series that began with The Lies of Locke Lamora. THE REPUBLIC OF THIEVES will release on October 10, 2013 in the UK and Commonwealth and October 8, 2013 in the US.
So you still have time to read the first two before it comes out

Samantha Bee made me tear up on Canada reads, today (she's suppose to make us laugh ). It was all so exciting. I've read 2 of the 5 books, but will surely add the other three to my pile. All the ''book defenders'' are good, but I Stephen Lewis - one of my heroes and an awesome human being.

The compitition started today and will end Friday. The site's a little confuzing, but you can see trailers for each of the books here plus the first show if anyone out there even knows what I'm talking about.

I didn't take the quiz, but it's a cool list of 100 books if you're looking for something to read.

Also, can I just say how much I loathe deckle edged (rough cut frayed texture) paper used for some books.

I went to the pawn shop on Friday intending to get a left-handed guitar for my 14 yr old. I ended up bringing home six more books, four of which I've already read, but I thought "I'll read those again sometime, and they look lonely there." P2 rolled his eyes at me when I told him why I bought them, then he picked one out to read.

I just finished Laini Taylor's trilogy and got all choked up at the end. Ridiculous.

No more happy ending fantasy books for me for a while. Can't handle them.

Oh. I didn't know this thread existed. I suppose some of the posts I put in that "what are you reading now" thread more properly belong here.

And I've read 2 of those 100 books linked earlier from Canada.

Well, I was bored. So I read a short story. And came across a sentence that confused me.

Is not safe for work.

I don't normally read a lot of male/female erotica. As I said I was bored. Does that type of comparison come up a lot in that type of work? The comparison

It's almost 55 minutes long.

P.S.: At the end Martin asks King, "How the F**K do you write so many books so fast?" King basically says, "That he tries to write 6 pages a day."
