Farewell to Moopf Murray

We take the small stuff for granted.
My 1st purchase in SL was a bubble gum ball from this machine.
It taught me a lot about the nature of SL, and scripting, and about animations as well.
I was very proud of myself for making such a great purchase.
I did not realize what a great purchase it was until time went by.
Moopf Murry the maker of this gumballl and machine made the machine available free , and commissions were split 50/50.
For 100 L$ you got the machine, and kept all the L$.
I started out with the 50/50 version, and saved up my Lindens. I finally got enough for the machine, and it sat on my land for 3 years.

Many Hundreds of residents bought the gum as their 1st SL purchase also, and have come to collect and trade pieces with friends.
Now after all this time an SL icon moves on.
Lucky Dip Bubble Gum Machine's are being discontinued on March 31, 2011.
Moopf is leaving SL and discontinuing his servers.
The Lucky Dip Bubble Gum Machine is a dispenser for Moopf's Bubble Gum - attachable bubble gum that comes in lots of different varieties, including some rarer special pieces that do strange things. All pieces of gum are dispensed from a server so as the bubble gum selection is updated, new gum is given from all machines. Pieces of gum are dispensed at random (the special pieces are issued much less frequently than standard pieces) and can be purchased as single pieces for L$1 or a pack of 5 for L$5.

Once worn the bubble gum gives the owner instructions on use.
Your bubble gum has the following chat options:

/10blow - Blow a bubble.
/10chew - Toggles auto-bubble blowing on/off. Use /10chew once to turn it on and /10chew a second time to turn it off.
/10help - Shows a notecard.
*The help notecard gives you some gestures you can copy into your inventory and activate to make it easier to use your bubble gum (you can edit the gestures if you wish to change the trigger key)
The gum has:
1.Three different bubble animations so you won't always blow the same bubble
2. Pop sound
3. Particle effect
(Special pieces may have additional commands).

The bubble gum is transferable so you can transfer it to another avatar (useful if you get more than one copy of the same variety from the dispensers).

Moopf… I will personally be sad when you are gone. You have been a great business model, and a wonderful inspiration to me and to many others! I will forever hang on to my gumballs and remember you!
Until the last day (March 31) collectors can still pick up gum from machines all over sl. There is one at Dogland Boardwalk

I love the gumballs, and his skates are awesome. I hate to see another talented creator go. I'll miss Moopf.

I think there was a machine back in the old sim of Taco. I had bought a piece, and later went on to buy one of the machines myself for my own store. I also own a few of his skates...
    I'll miss you Moopf.

Thanks for your comments. I am having trouble approving comments to display them ( I have contacted the "management")
I have made a commemorative Gumball Machine to honor Moopf. It is connected to my own server, that has dozens of flavors with various features , constantly being added to. (special flavors at Holidays too!) It gives your visitors a free random piece whenever they touch it. You can see the item at Gumball Machine
If any of you out there really want one, and don't have the 50 L$ for one, send me an IM in world, and I will share!

Sorry I have not posted here in so long a time.
Our RL has gotten so very busy, but I do come in world daily.
5 years later, and my homage to Moopf is still going strong...
We sell a dozen of these machines a week, in a few versions.
    My offer to you stands!
Just message me in world and I will send you one of these at no cost. I will add a few pieces of Original gum balls made by Moopf himself, just for the fun of it. (I collected hundreds of them!)
