New Year

Posted 01-01-2010 at 08:55 AM by Lewis Luminos

In the run up to this new year I've found myself making several new resolutions, and I'm approaching this year with much more of a sense of excitement (and trepidation) than previous years.

The main thing of course, is that I have to come out to my partner about the whole gender thing, and I have to do it soon (because I NEED him to come to the local trans meeting at the end of February) but I still have no idea how to do it or how to cope with the fallout.

But then I'm also making some resolutions that are aimed more at personal and creative development. The first one is having signed up for this creative writing challenge over the whole year. My main aim within this year of writing is to complete at least one decent novel-length story.

Another one is art, which I really miss, and I really want to do some more drawing and painting this year. I also need a new scanner, so I can scan in the results to show off!

The last thing came on me quite by surprise. Years and years ago I used to be quite into paganism; wicca, new-age stuff, tarot card reading and other sorts of divination, and just magical things in general. Somewhere along the way, I got cynical and sceptical, and I stopped believing in it all. I miss that and want to get it back. So I am keeping a spiritual journal (on paper, in a nice bound hardback book) and will be setting aside some time each day to try to get back in touch with that side of myself.

Should be an interesting year...

I hope everything works out between you and your partner, Lewis, and that 2010 is a year full of creativity, spiritual fulfillment, and self-discovery.
