James Bond, Age Verified???

I stumbled upon a new discovery today and it involves Second Life’s Age Verification. To test this discovery, I created a new account and age verified it using James Bond’s personal information. Yes, you read it right. I used James Bond’s supposedly real life personal information. I am not sure if there is such a person in real life with the name of James Bond but, one thing is sure though, Second Life recognized his personal information and age verified the new account I created.
pic_kab_james_bond.jpg

So, if you are still having problems going through Second Life’s Age Verification tool/process then here is something you can try. Why not use a fictional character’s personal information? Who knows, Second Life might recognize it and age verify you. Ha ha ha! [...continue reading James Bond, Age Verified???]

Unfortunately, raising sionChickens is a very expensive hobby and because it can cause lag some sims don’t allow them.
For the past few weeks, Swine Flu has been the center of global media attention and people around the world are getting scared. What can we do about it? Well, there’s really nothing anyone can do except practice proper hygiene (like washing our hands regularly, covering our mouths when coughing or sneezing, avoid public areas as much as possible and others). Me? I did something extra. I created a set of decorative custom fishing rods which can be used together with 7Seas Invisible Rod in Second Life.

This set is composed of 3 Swine Flu inspired decorative custom fishing rods that are compatible with the 7Seas Fishing Game in Second Life. If you are a Second Life and you have no idea what 7Seas Fishing Game is then visit their website at www.7seasfishing.com. By the way, I am not affiliated with 7Seas. I am just a third party custom builder but I usually just build for myself and my fishing area. [...continue reading The Swine Flu Fishing Rod Series]

Last month I received a Landmark to Carmarthenshire. Unfortunately, I can no longer remember who gave it to me. Sorry! Carmarthenshire, from what I gather, is a Medieval/Fantasy/Arthurian roleplay and combat sim. I dropped by a few days ago and took a stroll around the sim.

The landmark that I have dropped me on a dock where I was greeted by a sign that says “No OOC Beyond This Point”. LOL! Around the landing area are some things of interest like a box of FREE Clothes that does not give anything, a big board that lists the sim’s schedule of activities, two teleporters, some chairs and a few other objects. [...continue reading A Look At Carmarthenshire]

A couple of days ago I got a group notice from The Roman Empire about an OOC Maypole Party in-front of the Roman Colosseum. What the heck is a Maypole? My curiosity made me teleport to The Roman Empire to see for myself. There, I saw in-front of the Colosseum, a group of people on a spinning Maypole but, unfortunately, that did not answer my question. According to Google a Maypole is a vertical pole or post decorated with streamers that can be held by dancers celebrating May Day. Hmmm… May Day? It’s only January!!! Ha ha ha!

Anyway, it was an impromptu event. I guess the Empress got bored and decided to throw a Maypole party just for fun and, I can say just by looking at them, that they were having lots of fun with it. [...continue reading Impromptu Maypole Party]

A few days ago, I went to Medieval England to check out the changes that they did to the dock and the marketplace and I must say that they did a good job with the marketplace. The reason I like it is because it’s more spacious and a shopper now has easy access to all of the merchant stalls. No more walking from end to end of the wharf just to check out all of the merchants and their products.

Also, with the new setup of the markeplace non-roleplayers who are just visiting to do some shopping can do so without affecting any major RP because it’s kinda bordered off from the main area of the sim. A guest or a visitor (like me) can just walk around the marketplace and would not need to go deeper inside if they wish not too. [...continue reading New Medieval England Dock and Marketplace]

Finally, The Roman Empire has adapted the Levelling System of DCS2. What this means is, now you’ll be able to level up your characters in The Roman Empire. The higher your character’s level is, the more advantage you’ll get in combat and raids. Of course, this system will not be implemented in Gladiator Fights to keep it fair I guess.

My current level in The Roman Empire is 1 and to increase it I need to gain more experience by winning fights with other players or by just standing around anywhere inside the sim. In fact, the Level System is a great way for the sim to gain huge amounts of traffic. How? Well, a player can just stand around in the sim all day long to gain experience (much like camping. I am thinking of doing that with my alt but I need to buy him a DCS2 meter first. LOL!

Fighting to gain experience is out of the question because I never win. He he he! [...continue reading Level Up in Rome and the New Gladiator Village]

RPG Empire once had an Orientation Island but I think the increased in the cost of Open Space sims caused it to be closed together with other Open Space sims in the empire. Today, RPG Empire is composed of 3 empires and they are The Roman Empire, Medieval England and The Spartan Empire.

These three sims are all Roleplay and Combat sims and in this pavillion, dedicated to RPG Empire, you’ll get information about each empire. Each empire has their own set of rules and is ruled by different people. This make each empire different from one another and thus learning their rules is important. [...continue reading RPG Empire Pavillion]

Yesterday, while building I noticed that the available or free prims on my land suddenly increased. At first, I thought that maybe the sim owner, the God of Rome mikeD Streeter, gave me additional prims on my land but that was not the case because my prim limit was still the same. I then checked for objects I accidentally returned but I don’t remember returning anything. The last thing I did was to check the object owners by refreshing the list. I have a few people who are allowed to place objects on my land. Looking at the list, I found out where the extra prims came from. It seems that Margareth Dawner had removed almost all of her stuff off my land.

Margareth is a friend for many months and she assist me at 3 Stars and a Sun. I gave her 200 prims where she can place a small house and furnish it. For reason unknown to me, she has decided to removed her stuff in the house and I guess the rest will be next. [...continue reading An Empty House]
Medieval England, in celebration of the New Year, hosted a Historical Horseback Tournament. The tournament was sponsored by JTL Design and Armour Stalls. The prize is 200L$ and either a JTL Design weapon or a horse armor from Armour Stalls for the winner of each round. The more rounds a fighter win, the more prizes and money that fighter will receive.

It is a historical event because (as far as I know) it also celebrates the fact that Medieval England, together with JTL Design and Armour Stalls, introduced to the world of Second Life combat Horseback fighting. [...continue reading New Year Horseback Tournament]

The Roman Empire sim had their Christmas Party last December 23, 2008 and I went there, not to mingle or socialize but, to take snapshots of the event.

There were many people on the sim that day and it was really laggy. The people and objects around me took a few minutes to fully rezz and after it rezzed I was not sure if everything did rezz. [...continue reading OOC Christmas Party and Sim Wall]

I was editing my Tiki Pavilions when I received an invite from the God of Rome, mikeD Streeter, to watch the Beast versus Gladiator Tournament at the Colosseum. He teleported me to where he was which at first I didn’t know where because everything was rezzing (appearing/loading) slowly. Well, The Roman Empire sim is a very active sim with lots of people coming in and out so it’s not surprising to experience some lag from time to time. Anyway, I wasn’t able to take snapshots of the Beast versus Gladiator Tournament but, fortunately, a second tournament quickly followed it. It was a standard Free For All Tournament with a total prize of 5,000L$.

Hmmm, wait, it wasn’t just your everyday Free For All Tournament. You see, a big hole was opened in the middle of the Colosseum’s arena floor. Wow! That was the first time I’ve seen it and it was really big. Now, the fighters must fight around the hole’s edge and if they fall in they’re dead, at least for that round. Just like the Platform and the Cage, the Hole adds a another level of difficulty to the fight. If I was down there fighting, it will force me to enable rendering objects which I usually turn off when fighting. Now, fighting with objects visible adds to viewer lag which is bad for me because it lowers my frame rate. [...continue reading Fighting Around a Big Hole!]

I was at my place working on a new Candy Cane Rod when I received a rare group notice from The Roman Empire group. The notice was for a Free For All Tournament at the Roman Colosseum. What got me interested in this Free For All was that participating fighters or gladiators will fight inside a Maze. It was the first time I’ve heard of such thing so I went to The Roman Empire sim to check it out.

Before leaving for The Roman Empire sim, I activated my *ROMAN GLADIATOR* tag and wore my Gladiator outfit. In the Colosseum, a huge maze that covers the entire ground of the Arena greeted me. Some Romans were already there but I avoided them by climbing up on the third level of the Colosseum. [...continue reading Maze Fighting]
I went to The Roman Empire today to possibly participate in their Free For All fight but I was a bit late because when I got there the fight was already over. I stayed for a few minutes to look around the Colosseum and while I was looking around I saw a female avatar with a pair of really big boobs. I’ve seen hundreds of female avatars with really big boobs but hers were the biggest that I’ve seen so far.

Anyway, this past few days I noticed that I was not getting any Group Notices from The Roman Empire. At first I thought that maybe one of the officers had kicked me out of the group but that was not the case. I am still a member of the group SL Roman Empire. I did notice that my Roman Noble title was no longer in the Title Drop List and that the titles available to me now are *ROMAN GLADIATOR* and *ROMAN PLEBEIAN*. [...continue reading Rome, Big Boobs and Slaves]
